I'm heading to the US towards the end of the year and have been looking into accommodation.
Has anyone every used or have an experience with www.travelpony.com for hotel booking?
I've looked at a few deals in NYC and Vegas and the prices seem a bit too good to be true, so what just wondering if they're legit. And also, they seem to have a pretty aggressive social media marketing platform and most reviews on the web seem bought and paid for. Very suss.
I used them a couple of weeks ago for a hotel booking in Hawaii. Got the referral credit + the coupon code ($60 USD off) and saved a bundle on the hotel rates. Worked great and pre coupon prices were similar to what was on HotelsCombined.
Have you actually confirmed the booking with the hotel yet?
Yep. I stayed there 3 weeks ago.
I sent a email to the Royalton in New York. Travelpony had them on their website at about half price. I got this in reply:
"Royalton does not have an agreement with Travelpony to list our hotel."
Sounds a bit weird. Their hotel would be listed on 1000s of booking sites. They might have just wanted you to book with them directly. What dates are you seeing half price?
TravelPony is showing $435/night
Hotelscombined is quoting $448
On a side note, seriously save your money and don't stay in midtown. The subway runs 24 hours and is excellent.
They probably have an agreement with a wholesaler who has an agreement with Travelpony.
Never heard of them. Usually if it seems too good to be true, it usually is.
Crosscheck some choices with other known platforms. If you find unbelievable savings using this mob, then cross them off your list…
