Wistia - Free Lifetime Video Hosting (15 Videos, 30GB/m Bandwidth)

110

Normally 3 videos and 5GB/m for their free plan.

Upgrades free Wistia plan to 15 videos and 30GBs bandwidth. Service is used for putting videos on your own websites, similar to Dropbox's homepage.

You're getting around $10-15/m for free based on their pricing. The only difference from the free and premium plans are the amount of videos and amount of bandwidth.

Expiry date may actually be the 22nd of June, I'm not really sure atm.

Like you tube, but costs money?

    • It's used to host videos but it's mainly for embedding them into your website. There's no indexing everyone's videos or searching. Some websites actually use YouTube for Wistia's same purpose, but doing this you'll get YouTube ads popping up and such.

      • On Youtube the ads only appear if the uploader has enabled them. (And the uploader gets a cut)

        • I wasn't aware. I assume this service has reasons to why it's better than using YouTube for the same purpose, but I won't know till I fully check it out later on. AppSumo promos are normally decent, got a lifetime KISSmetrics account (Similar to Google Analytics) from them a year or so back and it's a great analytics service.

And without Youtube branding, or links to Youtube, so you look less of a cheapskate and dont drive traffic offsite

Off-topic.. But did u go to Sandy college? U look familiar.

    • Never heard of it :)

  • Youtube has an issue with users flagging semi nude videos of some professional users ie massage teachers - whereas other videos show full nudity, breasts, penis, vagina (oh you get the idea) and don't get flagged. Once a user is flagged they are no longer able to host their videos.

Can anyone recommed a site where the videos can be downloaded and not be affected by others. Thanks.

    • You could always just host them on your own server? But if not that, maybe Dailymotion? That place never seems to be moderated. Vimeo has better customer support so they could also be an option.

  • thanks Vustom
