Does anyone else have a Commonwealth Platinum Debit Card?

I received a Platinum Debit Card form Commonwealth Bank last month, forgot about it til this morning went to the bank and the lady has never seen one before, the 2nd lady was also shocked and said it was for selected customers only.

The benefits apparently:

  • Most purchases made with a Platinum Debit card are protected by Purchase Security Insurance
  • If your purchases are lost, stolen or damaged within 90 days of receiving them, we’ll repair or replace them
  • World wide purchase coverageLimits apply
  • You can claim the price difference if your purchase is advertised for less
  • Up to one year extra warranty on top of the manufacturer’s standard Australian warranty
  • Your own personal concierge is only a phone call away, 24 hours a day

Does anyone have one, and claimed the differences on your purchase, the 90 days repair, or any other feature?

    Anyone know how to get one?, I tried to Call and ask, but was told it was for selected customers.

    I have this card for few years now.
    Tried to claim for the damaged item (purchased item from AliExpress). Too complicated and I gave up.
    Requires a professional independent valuator report (charges apply) and other hassles.
    These are only marketing gimmicks.

    The brochure says price protection is only 21 days and it seems like there's a lot of hurdles to go through with stolen or damaged items. (eg. reporting your phone lost to the police)

      Phones are expensive… if I had my phone stolen I'd report it.
