So far I'm thinking
Just home computer, 1080p video web browsing, music all with ease, multitasking and some light gaming, light
I saw your thread on WP. Also agree with the recommendations Onover gave you.
MSY prices http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS.pdf
CPU A8-5600K $109
board G-BF2A75M-HD2 $79
RAM 8G Kit1866 Kingston Fury $96
Coolermaster USB3.0 NSE N200 $49
Antec Neo Eco 80Plus Bronze 450 $73
Samsung 840 EVO Series 120GB $95
Windows $109
$609 dollars or $500 ish if you exclude Windows.
AMD has good IGP and will help keep costs down. If you're able to stretch the budget a little then I'd recommend a Radeon 7770 and pair up with Core i3.
Would an fx-6300 be a better cpu
Depends on whether you want to use a video card or not.
If you want to use a video card, you should get FX series (note: AM3+ socket!) or go with an Intel CPU (increase costs)
If you want to use integrated graphics, you should get an AMD APU (A8 or A10 series) (note: FM2 socket!)
I also like the bitfenix shadow case at $85 I think I want to pay the extra it's sleek looking and has many features
Also should I definitely not get the i3 4130?
Core i3 will be good at older games. Games that are older tend not to utilize multi-core CPU's, will run better on the Intel than the AMD FX.
Newer games based on newer engines however make use of multi-cores nowadays. For e.g Battlefield 4, new Source Engine updated with Multi-core rendering, will see a benefit with more cores. In this case, FX6300 will pummel the Core i3 4130.
Most games however are GPU bound rather than CPU, and with a tight budget like yours, the video card will most definitely be the bottleneck.
Would I have to get a graphics card for the fx-6300
yes
This is so hard for me :( I can't decide anything
I'm thinking i3 and add a graphics card later if need be
Will an a8-5600k allow me to play many games using only it's inbuilt gpu
You could get a 7850 or a r7250 for around a $100. Decent performance for money in my opinion.
What are you using this computer for?
