Velocity Rewards tracking with AppliancesOnline.com.au

I've bought heaps of stuff through velocity and with their recent bonus offers, when I went to buy my washing machine through appliances online, I chose velocity over start here. The points never arrived and after providing prrof and velocity going through email address changes, I finally received a response. Appliances online claims I was not logged into velocity when the purchase was made and apparently velocity is too bloody lazy to check whether I was logged on, even though I have the exact time of purchase from appliances online. So just tough luck for me.

I was drawn in by their bonus points offer. It was marginal, but I decided it was worth it to take the points over the cash from start here.

I was happy with appliances online service, but I will definitely need to factor in the risk of getting nothing (points or $) if I buy from them.

As for velocity, I will now only buy through them if no one else will give me anything for my purchase.

This was a large purchase. I was very careful and have bought successfully via velocity before.

  • Depends on your browser too. If you are in stealth mode or equivalent, it can't save any cookies and therefore can't link your purchase with the referrer website.

    • No problem with start here purchases or eBay through velocity.

  • honestly, i have issues with velocity every month!
    i purchase alot through Asos, car rentals and other sites from their site..
    asos ones never come through, so i end up calling velocity several times, getting angry (sometimes screaming) and then demand a supervisor to sort out the issue.
    i generally get what is owed to me in the end - without asking for anything more
    i purchased a TV from appliances online a year back and the day after i purchased it, they placed a 'no AV products' slogan on the e-store meaning i wasn't eligible for points and they refused to give me points… about 3 calls after i got the points owed to me.
    hell, even once i was that frustrated with velocity and i ended up writing to the CEO and i got a response to my letter in 4 days - i'm assuming it was a 'keep him quite' situation, and again i got points that were owed to me.
    its a love/hate relationship i have with velocity, but when the points come through i'm grinning ear to ear.
