What kind of plant is this?

We were walking past a restaurant and my mum liked this plant that they displayed at the front but doesn't know what the name of it is.

Can someone please shine some light on this?

  OP, better not mention other plants that are named "in honour" of mothers-in law, like the MIL's Seat, which is a big round cactus.
