Silit Sicomatic T-Plus 6.5lt Pressure Cooker - $199 (Pickup OR $10 Shipping) @ Matchbox

30

Cheapest I've seen it.
Usual price is $250-300 depending on which Matchbox sale it is (although RRP is: $519.95).
I've been eyeing this for awhile, this is the cheapest it has ever gone.

Peters of Kensington has it for $218, Postage is $11.
Plenty of Matchbox around Victoria, Brisbane and WA for Pickup.

Made in Germany.

I know ozbargainers recommend Fagor Duo for cheap pressure cookers which are pretty good quality, however those are either made in Spain or China. Cheapest I can find a Fagor Duo 6L is $199. Fagor Duo also has a notorious issue with their handles snapping off because it is only spot welded to the pot in 2 spots.

In my opinion for this price i'd get the Silit over the Fagor.

I know some ozbargainers risk their lives using the Fagor to make KFC (Pressure Fryer)… now you can risk your lives making it in a pressure cooker which is made in Germany!

Lol change the words in the brackets , to me it sounds like usual price $10 but free if u pik up. Just say pik up or 10 for postage, no one charges to pik up

    • Haha Done. would be awesome if it was free!

  • Hawkins do a stainless steel 6 litre pressure cooker for about $80.

  • Where is it made from? Quality wise similar? Mind sharing ur experience using it?

    • In regards to which one? Silit or Hawkins?
I'm surprised you even mentioned Hawkins, I thought only Indians use Hawkins.

The Hawkins are extremely simple, aluminium molded using a weighted pressure valve to control the pressure.
The lid uses a rarely used design where the pressure pushes the lid upwards and holds it in place.

They are also quite noisy compared to the newer types of pressure cookers.

Unsure about the safety of them, I guess it should be OK since they are still selling them.

Silit is also very high quality, the quality is better than the Fagor Duo which people keep piping about it being the best value pressure cooker.

Its German made, what isn't nice about it? lol.

  • Is the surface ceramic or stainless steel, it says slargan ceramic and base stainless steel , hmm just wonder coz I heard ceramic will have scratches after a while? I could be wrong though

    • Its enamel/ceramic.

Its pretty durable from some of my friends who used it for years. They used it heaps too. Scratches you may get, but its all good as long as you don't do something to chip it.

  • Cool thx op getting one
