  Ranked number 1 airline in the world (for first class)? But I would assume their economy is fantastic as well. Not sure about the rules on alcohol service though.

  I flew with them to Egypt and back a couple years ago, through Doha.

  Apart from some of the entertainment units not working every flight (they just move you to another seat, I think they are a bit dated), everything was smooth, meals were decent and friendly staff. Never had any problems.

  There's a lounge in Doha as well if you stop over for a while there, called the Onyx lounge, think it was about $40. Was pretty decent, drinks and food, showers, internet etc. Have a look online if you are interested in that.

  I flew with Qatar from Melbourne to London Heathrow, and from Paris CDG to Melbourne, stopping at Doha both times.
  Could not fault their service. A lady sitting in the row next to us was clearly one who was not easy going and made simple tasks difficult for the air hostesses (is that term politically incorrect these days?), but they went to whatever length to solve these without a fuss. Flights were all on time and unlimited food/drinks/alcohol on board, blankets and pillows provided and lots of clean toilets on board so no queues. Can only recommend them :)

      being friends with 2 "air hostesses" -qantas link + emirates- they both prefer the term - "Air Steward".

  went to paris with them on a cheap flight
  doha was upgrading terminals back about 3-4 yrs ago
  so it was a pain getting on a bus shuttle after getting offer the plane and going to the terminal at doha. i'm sure that has changed now
  otherwise it was a clean, efficient service. would happily recommend (though I love etihad more)

  We flew economy Rome to Singapore with them last September after our BA flight was cancelled.
  We flew Qantas & BA over & Qantas back from Singapore (this sector back with Qantas had to have been the worse I've been on for service & comfort, or should I say lack of!)BA are hopeless & Qantas have just lost the plot.
  Qatar service, comfort & plane was 2nd to none.
  I thoroughly recommend them. Pity they don't fly form Sydney.

  Flew from Bali to Singapore with them…not often you think why couldn't this be one of my longer flight sectors :(

  Have flown twice MEL - BRU return in Y and once BKK - FRA in J.
  Excellent service and single window seat in luxurious J Dreamliner fantastic.
