Just thought I'd put it out there that Linux Ubuntu 14.04 LTS launched today.
Obviously not for Windows and Mac lovers, but I'm sure a few will appreciate this.

if you need a gui for a low powered device then xubuntu might be a better choice with its light-weight xfce gui.
for a nas you could be a real man and go commando with the server version (command line interface)
I believe all variants (kubuntu, lubuntu, xubuntu) are LTS this time round which is nice.
its a free OS, ozbargaineers best OS….
i use ubuntu on my netbook, works a charm and gave my netbook a neww lease in life.
Damn, I was about to put it up as a post as a deal but it seems that I was too slow :P …. Putting it on the deals would expose a lot more people to it though …..
I don't know why you would post this as a deal.
Yes it's a free o's. People should be well aware of the operating systems out there and for those that don't then trying to use Linux will be problematic.
I belive a thread should be good enough as if you post a deal for Ubuntu then start posting for a he'll of a lot of other distros.
after playing the linux mint 16 cinnamon for a couple of weeks i think it is tops. i even managed to work out how to install it with madm raid 1 + luks + lvm (for some bizarre reason ubuntu doesn't support software raid installations out of the box anymore).
i think the best part of linux is never having to worry about malware. i suppose phishing emails/sites are still a possibility.
Good thing about Ubuntu LTS is — even if you are a Windows or Mac lover, you might still want to get it running on your NAS or HP Microserver. 14.04 server would be supported & get security updates until 2019.
