I had this kettle, it does boil water, but there are a number of problems
    - Not 'cool-touch', it gets very hot
    - The keep-warm feature is easy to accidentally trigger resulting in it periodically reboiling until you remember to turn it off. Granted, it is useful when you use it deliberately
    - The keypad silver colour and text wear off fairly rapidly, especially on the 100 degrees button which is the one that sees the most use, at least for me, so it doesn't look nearly as good after a short while
    - It's not a big thing, but boiling water requires two button presses rather than one (temperature, then start button), which is mildly annoying

But the biggest thing, which is not unique to this kettle, is that the tall-style kettle is hard to fill if there are more than a few items in the sink, whereas the short/fat type kettle is much easier to fill when the sink is full!

This deal does offer a relatively good price. But I wouldn't buy this kettle again. IMO you should only get this if you know that you'll make heavy use of the variable temperature feature

    • We have this kettle as well and I agree with your observations.

Although regarding the 4th point, mine seems to just default to the last temp settings so I only have to press 'Start' most of the time (unless I specifically want to change the boiling temp.)

I also got it from yourhomedepot.

  • most (maybe all) Cuisineart stuff is a mass ripoff to start with, so this doesn't really represent a bargain in the scheme of things.
