One of my mates had a meeting what he thought was a job at a coffee shop. But was an interview to get him to be some kind of agent to sell coffee thats made in Malaysia but the HO is in the usa. Make some kind of commission for each sale I assume and has a referral bonus like amway sales. He is thinking about buying a startrr kit for $50. Should I stop him?

If there was real money to be made the person who introduced him wouldn't have had to do it under the pretense of a job at a coffee shop.
Same as any other MLM. If you're a shameless salesperson and have no qualms about pressure selling highly marked up products to your friends and family (and then encouraging them to do the same) you can quite feasibly make a killing.
