Probably because there's very few feral dogs living in our cities, breeding and overwhelming shelter resources.

this one's easy, attitude! when the dog sees it's new owner it starts yapping, wagging it's tail, runs around, jumps up, gets excited to see you etc so it's an easy sale, but with cats, well, they take the more laid back approach, especially with adult cats, they take one look at you and you can tell they are thinking something like "yeah, ok, whatever dude, let's not get too excited, let's play it by ear ok?"

I think something like $60. You're getting a cat with all the vet attention done. Also they usually charge money, so they have more confidence in the adopters looking after their new pet properly
