  • Great price. Will pick one up now!

  • Cheaper at Myer atm if you team up with another two people. B2G1F makes them $186 each.

    • +2

And tha chances of finding / knowing two other lego loving Star Wars nerds willing to drop almost $200 on this set is…

"Don't ever tell me the odds!"

      • +1

Looks like you should get $200 on eBay for that second one…
So ~$172 for a little effort with Myer + eBay

        • Whoop, Spidey said buy two get one free, so that's $558 outlay - 2x $200 eBay sales = $158 final cost
(assuming eBay doesn't charge listing fees, and that your time is worthless)

        • Minus over $40 in eBay and PayPal fees so closer to $200 for the final cost.

  • Red Ten, standing by.

    • Red Two, standing by.

      • +2

        Red October, standing by.

Edit: dammit, muncan made that joke way before me.

        • Red October was the best one. Have another +1

  • Red Leader: “All wings check in.”
Red 3: “Red 3 standing by.”
Red 6: “Red 6 standing by.”
Luke Skywalker: “Red 5 standing by”
Red Buttons: “Red Buttons standing by.”
Redd Foxx: “Redd Foxx standing by.”
Big Red: “Big Red standing by.”

  • Is it true that Lego Sets starting with number 10 are collectible items?

    • +1

They've got to be 5 digit and yes, they are 'collectors' numbers. Whether they go up and down or not depends on demand. But as a Star Wars lego investor, I can safely tell you the price is always going up for sw lego

      • What about the point when the generation of people who knew and loved Star Wars is gone, and then you'll have a bunch of retired Gen whatever who don't know what it is unless their grandpa told them.

        • They have Clone Wars for the kids of today and new star wars movie coming up.

        • +1

@Radar that hasn't stopped people wearing Che Guevara / Jimi Hendrix / Bob Marley t-shirts yet (though maybe that's because they died before they got old and irrelevant).

Granted, a knockoff t-shirt is a little cheaper than a $200+ set of lego… but the threat of future irrelevancy is an issue with all 'collectible' pop culture stuff. Despite continued dilution of its "brand" in the last 15 years, Star Wars still sits up pretty high in pop culture and isn't going away in a hurry. Lego is in a similar position.

Besides - buy it to enjoy it, not to leave it in the box, hoping to sell it for more later :)

  • Is it the same as this one - the ultimate collector series. I could use a second one if it is
