The regular price for the 50mm lens at Ted's Camera Stores is $135.
I'm not sure why you'd want to use such a cheap lens with a $3000 camera, but there you go.

You beat me to it. I took too long to post. :)
It's a bloody good lens, that's why you'd use it. It's probably a staple in many a Nikon shooters lens arsenal. It's been superseded by the newer G variant but the original D lens is still one of the sharpest lenses around stopped down 1 or 2 stops. It's readily available for $100 at other places, so I wouldn't get too excited by the deal unless for some reason Ted's had a cracking deal on the camera you wanted and you just happened to get this for free. Problem is that Ted's is rarely the best price around for these cameras. A quick look shows they have the D610 for $2,300. Even Hardly Normal has it for $2,188. It's hard to find a more expensive price.
Thanks for posting but this is a no deal.
lol
buy a $2,000+ camera get a $50 lens
ok then!
I guess there is hardly any "bargain" with Ted's. They sell service not products, their cameras mark up at premium price. That $135 discount in lens is not gonna turn it to bargain.
They sold me a Tamron 70-200 2.8 VC for $1240, pretty good price for the lens
Because that's one of the best lens Nikon has ever come up with :)
