How much total cost? $1 postage don't mean anything!

    • Sorry…Edited!

How old is this camera? What I thought was its replacement, the D300, has just been discontinued.

While this cheap, I wouldn't buy this kind of thing at an online shop.

yeah d300 is the replacement for the d200. but even then, d300 came out last yr. this year d90/d700 came out. d90 - plastic frame, d700 - full frame, metal body. d90 is alot better than d300, even has movie function.

you can get a d90 for 1775 from DCW (http://www.digitalcamerawarehouse.com.au/) including 18-105mm VR lens.

your choice/preference really. my friend told me either d700 or d90. i'll stick with d90 if you're just an amateur unless you're loaded. :)

or from that site you could get a Canon, again preference :P

I definitely agree. The sensor on the D90 is almost as sharp as a D3. You're paying more for old technology here. Thanks for posting, but I don't think this is a bargain.

The sensor on the D90/D300 is CMOS as opposed to CCD on the D200. Cmos is much better. I have read that production of the D300 has stopped, so another model is due soon to replace it.

The build quality on the D200, being a pro camera, would be better than the D90.

Agree! Also postage is negligible for an such expensive gears.

CMOS sensors are far cheaper for the manufacturer to produce. Hence why they the cameras are coming down in price

CCD was KING circa 2000-2006. CMOS was low grade webcam material until Canon and the EOS D-SLR. They developed better software to deal with CMOS's inherent problems.
