been trying very hard, no information at all, never even mentioned what sort of screen, if it's IPS/ MVA plus min 1 gig ram might be worth a shot. stated came with google play too……..
likely is 3188T rockchip or MT6589
Android 4.4 is really a surprise not many china brand has that just yet.
OK, these things do exist … kind of. Just picked one up afetr going to a few different Coles stores. Box is still sealed, not sure if I will keep or not until I can verify if it has GPS as I want it for that feature.
Main issue is it is actually a 1GHz processor, not the 1.2GHz they advertised.
Box lists:
8GB Flash Memory
7.0" touchscreen TFT LCD 1024x600
1GHz Quad Core Cortex A7
1GB RAM
WiFi 802.11b/g/n
2MP and 0.3MP cameras
USB 2.0
Android 4.4
LiPo battery
Speaker, microphone
MicroSD up to 32GB
Thanks for the specs maximage, but the resolution is abit low for my liking.
At this price range, maybe a used N7 16g gen1 instead.
Hey at least you have grounds for a return on the issue of processor speed alone.
Good luck.
For $129 you can buy a Kobo Arc device. The hardware is much higher end (1.5 ghz dual core, 1GB RAM, front facing stereo speakers, 1280 x 800 resolution, IPS display and 16GB internal memory).
Easily rooted through an APK exploit (no computer needed, no need to install recovery either). Though it runs the Kobo themed skin you can just install any launcher over it and turn your Kobo into a more stock Android tablet. It's kinda like the poor man's variant of the Nexus 7, only slower but doesn't lose in terms of battery life or screen quality.
Yeah, if this one doesn't suit, I'm just going to get a current Nexus 7 instead.
Have opened the box. Will return it if it doesnt suit under "not as advertised" given they said it was meant to be 1.2GHz. I am totally new to Android, how do I quickly tell if it has GPS in it?
Well, Google Maps seems to find my location, but not sure if that data is somehow being fed to it from the iPhone I am hotspotting from.
Hmmm, might be getting location via the iPhones GPS possibly, can't see a reference to GPS in the Location section, just says "WiFi & Mobile network location"
how's the screen angle like? 1.0 quad core, not sure what company is that…..
likely is Allwinner A31/ A31s, the graphics card should be good? SGX544
CPU review (last year)

faster than tegra 3…. really?
Just downloaded the "Phone Specs" app to poll the hardware. No idea how accurate this all is. Points of interest it comes back with are:
Manufacturer:INet
Board: exdroid
Hardware: Sun6i
Android Version: 4.4.2
Kernel Version: 3.3.0
Screen Resolution: 1024x552
Screen Density: 160 dpi
Clock Speed: 1.2 GHz (despite what the box says)
Cores: Quad Core (4)
Architecture: N/A
Revision: N/A
RAM: 1GB
Internal Storage: 4.38GB
Internal Free: 4.11GB
Back Camera: 1.88 Mega Pixels (1200x1600)
Front Camera: 0.3 Mega Pixels (480x640)
BatteryTechnology: LiFe
Run Antutu on it as well.

more reason to believe its A31/ A31s CPU.
main thing is how smooth is the tablet, screen angle acceptable?
I'm fairly sure that this is the product version that coles is selling http://shop.pendo.com.au/index.php/products/pendopad-7-quad-…
I don't think it was there before, but yeah the manual stated it is A31s - which is ALLwinner CPU.
CPU wise is ok for a 7", the next question would be the TFT screen. if it is as good as ainol one, it might be useable……resolution same as ipad mini.
Those specs definitely are new up on there site, weren't there a day ago.
Screen isn't too bad, would say not IPS, does drop off at angles, but not like screens of old. Quite usable. Returned mine today, went and bought a Nexus 7 Gen 2. Big jump up in screen performance, resolution, etc, however, it would want to be at nearly 4x the price. For the $89 these are, I think they are a bargain, it was just the lack of GPS that killed it for me.
OK, Antutu says it is a Haier made tablet, again, no idea how accurate that is.
Speed wise, Antutu slots this in just below a Sony Xperia Z and above the Samsung Galaxy S3 with a goal score of 19,593.
Multitask: 3823
Runtime: 1304
CPU (Also states it is a 1.2GHz Quad) Integer: 3070
CPU Float-point: 2003
RAM Operation: 1865
RAM Speed: 651
GPU (PowerVR SGX 544MP) 2D Graphics (600x976) 2479
3D Graphics: 3314
Storage IO: 469
Database IO: 615
Antutu summarises it as: CPU Good, supports large apps and multitasking, RAM Good, 2D Graphics Excellent, 3D Graphics Good, Fluently support most games.
thanks for the analysis
Spend an extra $150 and get the Nexus 7 (2013), you won't regret it.
