You will need an Amazon account with a US address to purchase this key, which is very easy to create.

Gamespy's servers are shutting down at the end of May and with it the multiplayer portion of Battlefield 2142. I guess that's the reason Amazon are selling it for so cheap.

From what I understand, you will still be able to play single player with bots and maybe even multiplayer through gameranger.

Who cares, it's $1!

  I have so many memories of playing this game, IMO one of the best Battlefield games yet and I'd kill for a remake! Ultimately not worth the purchase with the servers shutting down :/

    No, It's a multiplayer game. Singleplayer is just the multiplayer maps with bots.

  This was great fun in its day,, ahhh, the walkers, the snipers, the titans, bring it back!!!

  coincidentally I tried to play it again about 2 weeks ago through Origin;
  the graphics were horrible, then there's the wide screen BS.

  I only wish teh next battlefield is based on this

  If servers are shutting down, this shouldn't effect playing multiplayer on LAN, right?

  I loved battlefield 1942 and battlefield 2 but this game I didn't quite understand, played it a number of times but just seemed repetitive and pointless.
