thanks guys, don't think she has looked at the Optimus G, as for the S3 4g this is a good phone? as I seem to remember reading it had a very limited battery life, when it first came out.
The screen is what consumes most of the battery, especially phones that are running AMOLED displays. Here is the review of the S3 4G
LCD and IPS displays do use less power in comparison to AMOLED when the brightness is set to 100%.
I would expect at least a full days use out of the S3's 2100mah battery but probably only barely if she uses the phone very regularly and has a lot of 'screen-on time.
If you want to go longer then I suggest getting her an extra battery to swap out or maybe even an extended phone battery.
Bought LG OG off Gumtree for $190 with box etc…going strong..if mobile network is on , it last 22hr owise 2 days if u turn off auto sync…
Nexus 5 costs $50 more than your budget… but you'll be getting your money's worth.
