Hi,
I managed to crack the screen very badly on my iphone 5c. Could anyone point me in the direction of someone who can fix it fairly cheaply in the Hornsby (Sydney) area preferrably but will travel if it's a good price.
The highest quote I had was $270 and cheapest $160 in the city.
Also, is it easy to do yourself? I had someone mention this to me but hesitate to do so.

Just go to the apple store. I think they are about $70.

Try around $200+ you do realise they supply you with a brand new phone, they don't just repair the screen. The entire phone will be replaced.
That doesn't come at a $70 cost.
I'm sure they are refurb units, for which your one will then cycle through the pool. But yeah, I expect quite some $$
They do not refurbish the old phones, ask them what they do with them.
They make you delete all your data by pressing the erase all button, sign an electronic disclaimer. An the send the phone away to get melted down, and remade.
Your welcome to either call, or ask in person. They do not reuse the old phones though.
Recently some Apple stores have a service to replace the iPhone 5 screen only on the spot and the waiting time is 1 hour.
Try your luck with apple store, if you are lucky and its still under the warranty they will replace it for you for free.

Not really. But still worth trying, it is Apple.
Its not covered but they sometimes be kind and replace it for you for free. The did that with my iphone 4 two years ago.

Thanks guys, will try apple store and the suggestions. I think the Iphone 4 and even just straight 5 is a lot cheaper to fix than 5c, they keep telling me it's the most expensive. Just my luck!
Report back to prove the haters in this thread wrong. I got my rear glass on my iphone 4s replaced at the apple store in about 5 minutes and it cost $35. They did not replace the phone.
I phoned apple and for the Iphone 5C they only replace the phone which cost nearly $300, so the cheapest prices around I can find are $130 out west to fix it.
you should go there after you make an appointment, not phoning them, I know it west of time but this how it work, if you are lucky they will replace it. independent on the sale person.
I am not really sure about the iphone 5c but for ipohne 5 and the ipad. its really not that hard to do it by yourself and you will save alot. try and watch some youtube videos if you think you are able to do what they are doing just buy what you need from ebay. and you will be ready to go. in any case you do it by yourself or make someone do it apple warranty will be cancelled
Worth just getting someone to do it, also get quoted based on labor only. Buy the digitiser on eBay etc, they usually charge double for the parts than what you can buy it for.
