Yes but I had wireless cameras but the connection kept dropping in and out so I decided cables were best for my needs.
Wired cameras are more reliable. You're going to need to give them a power connection anyway, and a lot of these cameras use Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) so you only need to run one lead. Plus, if you actually plan to use your home wireless for surfing the net, the less traffic you put onto your wireless network the better off you'll be.
Ebay has em for ~$500. So saving is ~$200.
I use Foscam IP Cameras via Ethernet and they are fantastic
Remote view on iPhone is great tooI have used them via wireless settings and it's almost just as good just the video is a tad jerkier
This seems like a good unit Swann but running cables inside the walls and ceiling is gonna be a pain don't you think?
still have to run the ethernet right? and power I'm guessing(unless you have a nice expensive PoE router or somthing)
I have my house already networked so it's good
Ethernet is good for many things tho - computer, gaming etc etc
This is pretty tempting, does anyone have any video samples of how well the camera quality is, both day/night?
can't seem to find any from googleCamera Specs

US$80 a pop at B&HThanks, but I wouldn't have a clue if they are any good specs wise, would anyone have a word on how well the specifications are?
The site doesn't show any samples of the actual video quality though, which is what I'm looking for in the end
What's the video resolution of these cameras?
PAL: 720 x 576
Was considering it until i read some reviews :
Good price but the downside for these cameras, you run the long cable between the cameras and the base.
"Wireless" or Network camera may be a better alternative?
