Hey guys! I'm thinking of getting a GPS. Have you guys found any good GPS deals on either the Tomtom 730 or the Garmin 760?
If you use either of those, maybe you'd also like to share your personal experience.
thanks heaps!

tomtom 730 without a doubt…
not sure what state you are in so look at http://staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=tomtom+730&spos…
and get officeworks to pricematch one of those sites (in your state)
Dick Smith recently had the Garmin 760 on special for about $350 or thereabouts. Excellent GPS, with many features, and after-market map support.
Hey,
I'm not familiar with those two models you've listed but I just bought a Navman S45 from this website I found -
http://www.alwaysonsale.com.au/aos/products/30370-navman-s45…
It was only $325 and I'm very happy with it - I really like the way it warns me of Red light cameras!
thanks for the help guys
i ended up getting the TomTom 730 for $418 (OfficeWorks beat Bing Lee who offered me $440)
in terms of usability etc, it's been awesome. The only downside has been the fact that it couldn't locate Orient Point (South Coast NSW) which was annoying. Apparently, their maps only cover 70% of Australia. That's what their helpdesk told me anyway.
I just walked into The Good Guys (Gold Coast) and asked how much the GO 730 would be since I have an RACQ card (12.5% discount off RRP of just about anything at Good Guys)
Their "special" ticket price was $479. OfficeWorks has it for $459. JB Hi Fi said they could do for $450.
With the RACQ discount it came down to $419 at Good Guys so I bought it (and they never even asked to see my RACQ card, which often happens). If you already have an RACQ card then this might be easier than haggling or running around price matching competitors.
I pay something like $59 a year for my RACQ card. Used it twice this year for tyre punctures (changing a tyre in a shirt and tie = fail!). But it saves me FAR more than $59 every year in discounts from stuff I buy from Good Guys..
EDIT: I bought the TOM TOM almost solely on the basis I can download Homer Simpsons voice for it.. plus the FM transmitter for playing MP3's to my stereo which has no AUX.. plus the bluetooth hands free and touch-screen phone list dialing..
tomtom i have found to be easier to use.
