I currently have a Commonwealth Bank savings account with a regular MasterCard Debit Card (not used for credit).
Today I received a letter in the mail with a Platinum MasterCard and saying that I'd been "upgraded" to that card.
Has this happened to anyone else? I've scoured their website and can't see any extra fees etc.
Says it has some benefits of price difference claiming, extended warranty and purchase security

This platinum debit mcd is only for selected customers and is totally free of charge, you cannot request for this upgrade if u haven't been selected.
The card has all the benefits of a real platinum (eg free travel insurance) but of course using your own funds.
I got my Visa and Amex Platinum too about a month ago. The benefits I can see are more multiplier points on Amex (2.5 times perhaps) and travel insurance (if you prepaid AU$1000 in flights and accomodation).
AGREE the card looks cool. Feel privileged.
Yes I received this yesterday. I read the 'benefits' which to me are completely useless. Oh well, the new card looks nice.
