Flights Bris to Europe and Melb to Europe

so leaving after 20th June and returning around 18 July.

10 tickets in total.

  • 5 tickets from Bris or GC to Europe return
  • 5 tickets from Melb to Europe return

this is for my family (Bris) and my wifes sisters family (Melb).

not phased where in Europe we arrive. we don't have to arrive in Europe in the same city on the same day. what ever the best deal is for these dates from Melb to Euro and Bris/GC to Euro

maybe via asia to middle east (stop over) then the europe

your assistance is appreciated.

thank you

  • I just ran some searches and I think you are paying a HUGE premium ($1000+ pp) for not stopping over in Asia.

    • thanks

yeah, maybe via asia to middle east (stop over) then the europe -updated post

  • Look at Royal Brunei as they will have new dreamliner 787 on MEL to LHR by then, alternatively go MEL BKK return and also BNE to BKK and then get cheap return fare to Europe from BKK. I paid $3000 return BKK FRA in business class. On Qatar. Economy was good too as have flown them Y twice to Brussels and Paris,
Use www.itamatrix.com to get an idea of routes. Try Finnair which flies from BNE and BKK to Helsinki. JoyV

    • thanks for the itamatrix link
$3000 pp is a bit much. I'm paying for the 10 tickets.

  • Royal Brunei Y used to be good value from MEL but maybe not if you are going from BNE unless you use Tiger or Jetstar to get down to MEL. I always find that airline websites offer best prices. they can also change for no apparent reason. I wanted to return economy tickets MEL - BKK in school hols and they went down $250 overnight. Guess it depends on likely loads and computer modelling about need to attract more passengers. As Royal Brunei do not serve alcohol many passengers prefer to use other airlines and pay extra. You have two stop overs, one at Brunei and another of about an hour as they refuel in Dubai. My friends like that as they can stretch their legs and breathe real air. The Dreamliner,787, their latest big jet, is pressurised at 6000 feet and so you do not feel as dehydrated as on older planes.

  • Melbourne to Paris

~$2.1k for 1 stopover, either Malaysia or other Chinese airlines
~$1.45k for 2 stopovers, Vietnam airlines (which I think is REALLY cheap!!!)

    Brisbane/Gold Coast to Frankfurt

~$1.9k for 1 stopover, China Airlines (Taipei stopover)
~$2.3k for 1 stop, Malaysia Airlines

All prices are departing June 20, returning July 18.

  • altomic, I only looked at the BNE tickets.

    Finnair through Expedia $1256pp

    20/6 BNE-AMS
    17/7 AMS-SIN

    Scoot SGD228 (A$196)

    SIN-OOL(gold coast) price without luggage

1 nt Singapore on way home

    TOTAL A$1452 (plus Scoot luggage)

  • Might find some useful info here if you read down thread and then use airline websites to look at economy flights.

na = North America and eu= Europe.

Also just has a look at Royal Brunei Dreamliner and Y is really comfortable
but prices to LHR are dearer than above $2319.22 If you were to leave MEL between Saturday14 and Wed 18th June it would be cheaper $1833 to $1928 if return Fri, Sat.
Reckon the best bet is to use a cheap carrier and get to Asia and then get return fare from there. JoyV
