The free-to-download PC version features and functionality include:

Mr. Incredible character for free
Build in the Disney Infinity Toy Box with a starter set of Toy Box toys
Link your Disney Infinity console game to your PC game via Disney ID
Unlock all of your Toy Box toys from your Disney Infinity console game automatically (only way to unlock Toy Box toys on PC)
Use the Toy Box Share feature to transfer Toy Boxes from console version to PC version and back again
Access to the "Disney Featured Toy Boxes" from the Toy Box share feature
Play offline on the go
PC Game stays up to date automatically with any new PC version releases
Use web code cards to unlock digital versions of characters in the PC game
Super high quality graphics
Familiar PC gaming controls

In order to play Disney Infinity on the PC your system must meet these minimum requirements:

Windows Vista/7/8 (Windows XP users may encounter some issues during gameplay)

  the good thing is about a month ago they added a full playset bundle for those who prefer to forego the collecting thing

Free to download but surely you have to log on to play which would immediately kick up a $74.99 charge.

The PC version has always been free, and free-to-play games aren't bargains…

According to this the PC version is free to download and gives a free set of starter toys. The only stuff that you've got to pay for is the extra addons like characters, play sets and power discs.

I had no idea they released the PC version, it took too long and I forgot about it. Thanks for posting this, even if it's not considered a bargain, it reminded me about the game.
