PS64F5500 Samsung 64" Plasma

Hi guys,

My 2 year old son chucked a toy at our Samsung PS59D6900 Series 6 59" and cracked the screen. I've been looking for a replacement for a few weeks.

Had my eye on a Samsung PS64F5500 64" that I saw in at JBHifi for $1730. The stock they had was demo only though so I looked online and found it for $1798 at Retravision, which Joyce Maybe and Harvey Norman have agreed to price match.

Is this a decent telly? I would be using it for free to air telly and gaming mainly so don't need anything too mind blowing. Is this the cheapest available right now?

    I have this TV, I got it about 6 months ago for $1500 from Harvey Norman after some negotiation. It is a great TV, great colour, works well with the xbox one and ps3, has 3d glasses included. The smart TV features are great also. The only problem with mine is that it has an annoying buzz, which I have had the techs out for, but they haven't fixed it. The buzz is annoying, but I do live in a small apartment with wooden floors, so Im guessing this contributes. Anyway, this TV is much better than a 60 inch Panasonic plasma bought about 2 years ago in every way (apart from the panasonic being silent).

      Can't seem to find many reviews of this particular model but from what I have read a few seem to be cursed with 'the buzz'. I do have wooden floors so it might be an issue. This TV seems to have gone up in price since it's been on clearance, no idea why. Thanks for your comment, much appreciated.

    to be honest, this may have been a sign, seriously, tvs are overrated. the real entertainment out there is nature and family. ive rid my house of all tv's (except for the ones in the living room and my room of course) and i've never looked back. trust me, i have 4 wisdom teeth that need removing
