European and Australians 3DS consoles use the PAL format so yes, you will be able to play Australian releases on this console.
Great! Buying one now:) Thanks
One gets a charger, one does not.
Incorrect (kinda). The XL does not come with a charger in UK. However this is the normal, non-XL version
Australian 3ds consoles are basically an European packed in a bigger Australian box and include Australian documentation and charger.
If you check the bottom of an Australian console and a European console it's the same.the Australian one even says euro.
Note this is the normal 3ds and not the xl. Thats why it is so cheap.
Whats the main difference?
Not sure about the details but I think a bigger screen.
The console itself / the screens are significantly smaller, compared to the XL.
Better battery life on the XL as well.
What the other guys said. The battery life is significantly better on the xl.
Think XL has better hardware as we'll.
Your people will get better hardware? ;)
there are a few differences, better stylus position, screens don't press together leaving a mark,
but the main difference is the big screens and the more comfortable shape. XL is way better but it's not as portable and games/apps that use the camera don't feel right since the camera is the same as the original 3DS it looks like everything is zoomed in and off-scale.
Another improvement is battery life.
I like the color. I would get this if I didn't already own one. I wish the bezel around the screen wasn't still black though.
Great deal!
Isn't this bundle with 3 games better? Deal still active. Choice of white, black or pink bundle each with different games. Product page shows 109pounds, but price is reduced to 99pounds at checkout. You could sell all the games & end up with a ~$99 3DS.
I bought the bundle & received it in a week from UK. First time Amazon buyer too & so far I'm impressed. Everything was very well packed & games sealed.
Haven't opened/used it yet, but I'm hoping for <FW4.5 when I switch it on.
Only qualm is the incl. charger is EU. Obviously, coming from UK.
The pink bundle goes down to £91.66 when VAT is removed for me :)
Thanks for the heads up!
Oops, typo. Correct price is £91.66 for all bundles in checkout. Shipping is ~£8.50.
Total incl. shipping is £100.14 = ~$180AUD
Why am I getting $140
having used a 2ds for a few months now i would have a hard time choosing between the two.
i can't stress enough how much easier it would be to pocket a 3ds, even just around the house. but for me, even though i don't like the shoulder buttons, the 2ds is infinitely more comfortable to use (even compared to the xl).
i'm glad i no longer have to make this choice.
OMG such a world worry resolved, amazing, absolutely amazing, that was stressful….
harsh … but lol!
i can't stress enough how much easier it would be to pocket a 3ds
The 2ds wasn't designed to be put in the pocket…
just some advice really.
i knew going in that it wasn't going to be as portable, but only after carrying one around did i notice how much i missed being able to slip it into my pocket.
Got me a $170ish 3DS XL thanks to that good guy/ebay voucher …
Now to bring on the pokemons.
Can the 3DS play 2D games? i have a 2DS and was told i can't play 3D games.
Every game supports 2D and 3D so it doesn't matter. The difference between the 2DS and 3DS is that the 2DS just can't play the games in 3D.
You can't play games IN 3D. But you can still play 3DS titles.
edit: beat me to it
Amazon must have a bunch of these they need to get rid of.
The XL at this price would be ideal. Nintendo, please consider :)
Does this come with Australian power plug (viz .. 3 prong) or does one receive the Uk power plug so you have to use one of those travel power adaptor/converter plug for charging?
Ps. Unrelated issue: Nintendo Games purchasers should note that Uk and other regions games sometimes are released under different names… just In case you are having difficulties locating games from o/s. We used to purchase Pokemon games in Aus for Uk cousin as they were released here before Europe. Of course, I am uncertain if this is still happening; quite possibly the reverse now.
whats the difference between the UK version and the Aussie version? Can I play all games released in Australia?
