Logitech G27 Racing Wheel PC/PS3 $227.40 with Free Delivery-DSE

250

Ok. First post for me. I haven't seen this wheel under $260 all year. It is now $227.40 with free home delivery (or click and collect). I know people have got this for under $200 in the past, but this is still a very good price.

There are other G series gaming equipment with up to 40% off at DSE

  • I forgot to add the link…doh! Updated now :)

  • Awesome wheel guys, highly reccomend specially at this price .. Thanks for sharing Tony555

    • No probs :) I have been looking daily (for the past 6 months) for a good deal on this wheel. Now I have ordered one!!

  • Great price. I sold mine second hand for $230 about 2 months ago and thought that was a good price for the buyer! I feel guilty now!

This is funny as I bought mine about 4 months ago for $230 and am spewing as would have rathered brand new hahahaha!!!

  • some got lucky last time, it was only $20, got mine for $139 from dse last year….

  • Thanks alot, been on the hunt for awhile too but gave up, even my $265 order from dse 3 months ago is still in 'Awaiting Fulfillment' (c&c).

  • is this usable with the wheel in your lap sitting in a loungue chair, or does it need to be strapped to a table?

    • It needs to go on a table

    • Would love to see someone trying to play this on their lap. Even just for shits and giggles. :)

I first strapped mine to a stool. Damn thing kept walking away from me.

      • Yeah that would be hilarious! These wheels have pretty serious force feedback when the settings are adjusted - I got a sprained wrist when playing Live for Speed with force feedback maxed out!
Watching someone hold the wheel steady while the base unit spins around and smacks them in the groin would have me in stitches hehe.

  • Now where is the GT6 deal to match?

Anybody built a seat to suit these? Any tips?

    • I made this couple of years back, more of a stand as it doesn't have a seat..

You'll find instructions on the same blog on how to make one yourself, or buy it off of me I don't use it anymore.

      • Thank you. How sturdy is that? I was thinking of starting with a car seat from the auto wreckers.

    • I'm currently building a rig with a mate for one of these.

We used PVC pipes and mdf. Essentially works by making a go kart/sled type structure out of the PVC pipes, mdf mounted by either bolting flat bar steel or using hose clamps. Google has heaps of designs. We used vinyl wrap and plastidip to make it look the part. Don't have pics, but well worth the effort. Used a bucket seat from supercheap.

      I put this seat together.

  • I just pumped $500 into my paypal, only to see almost half of it disappear again :(

Oh well, pretty happy, been waiting for a long time for this. Thanks op.

This will go well (no, not a joke lol) with my 2dof motion simulator with 18 degrees of surge, sway, pitch and heave.

Website said "in stock", so I chose to pick it up, but all stores around my area, even bankstown and Parramatta don't have any stock left.

You should probably link your paypal directly to your cc (or bank account), to avoid having to load it up every time you make payments…

      • good idea, it takes 4 business days to clear funds, for me.

        • +3

It's handy, but it makes it so easy to buy stuff.

      • Actually, what is the advantage of putting money into your Paypal account?

        I've never considered it.

        • +2

No advantage at all. Better for your money to sit in a savings account earning interest.

    • Do you have any photos you are interested in sharing? Wanting to build one myself.

      • How do I upload photos?

        • you can just upload them to an image hosting site like: http://tinypic.com/
The just post the link. Not sure if it you can do anything on OZB

Initially I wanted to use a racing seat, but it didn't have seat recline. So I bought this one from the wreckers, although it appears to be sitting a bit too high (taken from a 7 seater), it's actually in line with the steering wheel. Had I used a racing seat, the steering wheel would be in the way of viewing the screen.

        • Cheers, I will check it out when I get a chance.

  • Been watching this on Staticice for weeks and almost pulled the trigger last week as it didn't seem to be moving from $299. Also was just going to buy Driving Force GT on special but really wanted movable Gear shift lever - I didn't want it on the right. Damn I am glad I waited. Will be interested to see how the clutch pedal affects my left foot braking ??

Anyone explored if it will work on PS4? Guess there is no games that need it at the moment, until Driveclub comes out.

    • I expect it would be game dependent. In the same way that GT5 on PS3 supported the G25 but not fully the G27 since the wheel was too new (the G27 pretty much still worked tho).

Of course, logitech may want an excuse to release a G29, and the PS4 would be the best excuse they can get to milk a bit more money from consumers.

    • theres no G25/G27 support on PS4 as of yet. the G27 does absolutely nothing.

i am tempted, but given i'm going for a ps4 & xbone sometime soon doesn't seem worthwhile yet.

No stocks already in any shops.

if im on my learners and i play driving games with this can i write it down in my log book?

    • Providing you pull over and wait until your vehicle has come to a complete stop in a safe location, sure why not.

      • thats just common sense. since im not really endangering anyone, would i need a driving instructor with me?

  • I hate Microsoft for not supporting these wheels on the 360.

  • I cannot find any stock in NSW, they don't offer delivery as on option any more either. :(

Anyone know what my options are for the best price on one of these?
