Does OzBargain fans interested in buying Apple certified cables?

As some of you might know, we often promote mobile accessories like cases, cables, chargers.. etc

Apple lightning cables are needed for almost all of the new apple devices.

The fake one cost less than $1 and we are not interested to bring them to ozbargain. Not to mention their quality. They could be unless once apple update their IOS to a newer version.

We are about to make 1000 x 1m mfi apple certified cables. However, they are really costly because we will have to buy the chip and licence from apple.

The lowest price we can do is $9.99 + Free shipping.

How does that sound? Please give us your thoughts

regards,

bulksales

    definately interested.

I've gotten those cheap ones and they've all broken. My apple one i got with my iphone ages ago is still going! Im definitely interested in more than one as long as its the same quality.

$10 for genuine 'made for iphone/ipad' cable is reasonable. maybe fluoro colours?
kogan lightning cables are very bad quality and the connectors fray after a few uses. not buying them again. only buying certified 'made for iphone/ipad' from now on.

    • Maybe we will make it black just to look different from Apple. We cannot afford to make different colours as we have to meet a MOQ for each colour.

I'd buy one.. would be cool if u could do long (3m) cables too

    • +1

We have considered 2m and 3m. Not sure if enough people want them.

      • +1

How much are they going to cost us?
For a good price, i will take some

  • Would be cool if you could have a short cable ~30 cm and maybe use a more robust cable.

  • i would buy them for that price

Does (sic) OzBargain fans interested in buying Apple certified cables?

I am just fascinated by the fact that you think this is English.

  • Count me in, particularly if longer cables are being considered

    • +1

We are thinking to get 2m, or 3m ones if we have enough buyers.

  • Id buy two, especially if postage was free/inc or cheap (no more than $2) & 1m is a good length… colored is good too, i have all white leads and damed if i can tell whats what!

  • +2

Yep definitely. Would take a few. Sick of the knockoffs not working.

  • +1

I think the problem would be convincing most people that they are actually genuine. Most people just assume a seller such as yourself are selling the cheap knockoffs

    • Genuine ones have to be certified by Apple. Simply call up Apple and they should be able to tell you.

  • Personally, I would only use non-Apple lightning cable on Apple devices which I don't really care that much (e.g. iPod touch 16GB). For iPhone 5/5S, I prefer to use genuine Apple cable for now. Those expensive phones cost $700-$1100 each. Trying to save $25 (or $15) does not make sense. Belkin ones are probably okay for me, but they cost about the same price.

I am interested in cheap/dodgy knockoffs for my iPod touch though. The dodgy one I have does not work properly sometimes.

    • We are not getting the cheap ones in because there are alot in the market already. Belkin ones are selling for $25. This is why we come out with an idea of selling the mfi ones for half price.

  • Yeah I would be keen at that price. Always need a few for work, home, bag and car; I'm sick of having to always remember to unplug the cable and take it with me. Let me know when they are ready to buy.

  • white or black, doesn't fuss me… 1.5-2m would be nice, 3 maybe too long…

flat vs round.. tbh whichever is more durable and longer lasting

and as long as these let me sync my iphone 5 with my macbook pro cause atm the knockoffs arnt letting me do that .. only genuine ones let me sync with my macbook..

    Price maybe 5$ each?

  • I got a pair of PQI ones from eBay (in Sydney) for $18 for two, posted.
Lightning certified and works great, unlike non-genuine ones i've used in the past.

Surely you can do better than $10 each?

    • In fact, we might not even be able to do it at $10 each unless we are selling at a lost.

      I doubt they are genuine.

Or maybe they loss money too?

      • They are genuine PQI and Apple certified.
No problem with using on any versions so far and the quality is not folded stamped steel like other ones, but rather 1 solid connector, like Apple's.

        • They are genuine PQI and Apple certified.

Can you post the ebay link ?

  • So what's happening with the cables? Do we have to wait much longer or should we go for belkins off eBay instead?

    • The disadvantage of using a non-genuine cable is that they might stop working once APPLE updates their IOS. This is meaning the cable will only last a shorter period and some badly made cables can kill your phone battery. So it is at your own risk.

      • +1

Don't think belkins are non genuine. Can you back up your claim?

Also you seemed to have skipped my question; when is the eta?

      • So it is at your own risk.

Same as buying from your ebay store.

How do we know they will really be genuine ???
