Australian Calrose Rice is soft, tender and succulent medium sized grains and is proudly all Australian grown.

Medium Grain Rice is round, tender and succulent allowing it to lock in moisture when it is cooked.

This rice is often used in dishes that require a bit more creaminess, like paella. It is also ideal in your favourite Middle Eastern, Korean and Spanish dishes, and is a good choice for delicious desserts. Gluten free.

  • Great deal. But let's not have the usual arguments about medium vs long vs basmati vs Australian vs imported…..

    • +1

Japan Sushi rice > Chinese North East Rice > Korean Rice = Normal Japan Rice >= Aus Medium >= Other Chinese Rice = Aus Long> South East Rice( Inc. Venn,Thai,Canb etc.)
That's normal sequence of rice quality. But if particularly made one may not follow this order, such as some high grade Thailand jasmine rice are very nice. But overall, Japan Sushi rice is the best, Australian medium rice is a quite good rice better then the long one.

      • Kor rice of highest grade (premium) bought in SEOUL cooked in kor 'magic com' is the best. According to my credible korean friends export of kor rice is banned. Eat rice of all sorts of jap rice IN japan (self prepared or in resto) not impressed.

Kor rice is sushi-like and 'glittery' like diamond

Have tried so many jap or kor rice in Aus not even close…

  • sugar, sugar spike, high GI just pity those who eat this 3x a day or more

    • but worse is those who can't afford to have it 3x a day or more

    • Traditional rice-eating populations used to do hard physical work, therefore, high GI didn't affect them so badly.

Basmati rice, brown rice and par-boiled rice are low GI, which are good options for modern rice eaters.

    i love brown rice :p

high GI / low GI are meaningless unless you're diebetic or pre-diabetic. also rice "quality" is a bit of a reach, it's mostly about personal or cultural preference for different characteristics

    • GI value is also meaningless if rice is eaten with other things because the combined GI value can be much different.

      Eg.
Wheat Biscuit alone is high GI, but with milk is low GI

I'm having a break from eating rice.

  • Try to eat different varieties of food: potato, noodle, spaghetti, whole grain bread, walnut n other nuts + milk for bfast, pizza occasionally and others. Would be very sad if you are stuck with rice unless u can't afford others.

  • Great Deal! Was free delivery for me too!
