Can someone please explain to me why the nexus 7 tablet is better than the samsung galaxy tab 7'?

Definitely the Nexus 7 (2013).

You'll notice that the Nexus 7 will be much faster with really anything and make movies look as crisp as your TV. It'll receive ongoing Android updates, if you're into that, as well as being as close to 'stock' as possible (no bloatware taking up valuable storage space). Although it doesn't have an SD card slot, those things only cause lag.
Have a look for one second hand and you'll find yourself an actual bargain. But differ the 2012 (bandaid looking device) to the 2013 one.

screens in nexus are super sensitive, 2 feet fall on carpet can break the screen
Just a piece of information, if you don't mind. I recently bought a 7 inch tablet from hisence called hisence zero pro. May not be as good as the nexus 2013 model but far better than Samsung tab and nexus 2012 model (including HDMI, SD card slot, 1 GB 2 cameras, NFC etc). Not much stock available now in Australia but if u search u would get it. For 155 AUD, I WAS really surprised at the spec.
If u don't want to spend too much and not much worried about quick OS upgrades, you may want to look at this as well.
Second that, it is a good tablet. But it might be a bit hard to find a Zero Pro; it is the Hisense Sero Pro. Silly name, easy mistake to make. It has featured on OB before are around $129, but it appears to be out of stock.
I believe that a new model will be on the market soon and if the rumours are true, it will be worth a look. The line is made predominantly for Walmart in the USA so the price will be low. Expect very similar specs to the 2013 N7 at a lower price.
