Creative Labs 20% off Store Wide (except MP3 & Bundles) St. Pat's Day - Free Shipping above A $129

30
LUCKY20

Sounds a couple of days late for Paddy's Day but alright, there's a 20% off coupon for most of Creative Labs' products on their online store: LUCKY20

It's applied on top of existing promo prices which is good if you're holding out for something but the code can't work for MP3 players, which anyway they haven't been releasing anything new since like what, 5 years ago?

Oh if you apply the code and it goes below A$129, then you don't get any free shipping till the total gets back up to A$129 so either top it up with something cheap.

  • :-( Wish they released the Creative Roar before this special went up! But thanks for sharing.

    • Np. Not sure when Roar will be sold to the Aussie market though.. (apparently only available in Singapore and not even in USA). Although there might be intro offers like what they've done with the Axx200. So that's worth a wait perhaps.

  • See my previous comment re: Creative and their warranty.

Not peddling hate, just don't want people to buy from them and have to go through the same experience.

    • LOL sounds like some canned generic responses from their customer service staff but bitch more and it will escalate to the manager. I think most of the problems are solved in a fair manner but if you know, it's really wear and tear, it's a fine line…

      • Did bitch more and got another couple of form responses.

The fair trading line got them moving, but the bitching to response ratio (b/r :P ) was too high in my books. Doubt I'll ever buy anything from Creative again.

  • once upon a time, they were the bomb before Apple came along with the iPod!

I remember selling their Zen series like hot cakes,

Bake em, sell em and people love it!

But their hard drive were shitty and we had soooo many returns,

    • Interesting.

Yeah the HDD failed on my Zen Touch, after about 18-24 months i think… Bought an iPod the next day, been on the Apple wagon ever since.

    • +1

Was a big fan of my jukebox and zen (never had any problems).
Tried an ipod and ended up getting a Cowon J3 after being frustrated with it (particularly itunes).

      • +2

Absolutely hate the whole itunes ecosystem integration bit. I will drag and drop any song I want!

And I have the same Cowon as well! Truly mammoth 64 hr (plus/minus) battery life. Enough juice for a weekend getaway listening to music on the flight there and back, with half the battery left! The UI took a bit of getting used-to though.. and proprietary cable sucks, but bought some extras from ebay so no biggie.

  • Are their sound cards still good? I remember them coming with a lot of bloatware.

    • Probably not as bad as those dodgy smartphones from Korea. (But oh well, I got a Nexus 5 which is technically Korean but ah… pure android).

Damn Titanium HD couldn't fit in with my heatsink installed so it's under-utlized in my other rig that kinda runs as a server.

Not too sure about internal ones but external ones like the omni 5.1 are pretty much plug-and-play plus some light software for additional settings. Compatibility with games however depends on whatever directx crap but oh well, my Blizzard games like WoW (retired till the damn expansion that has nothing to do with pandas is launched) and Hearthstone are ok.
