I'm looking at hostelsbooker.com
We have 4 people in our group. If i book 4 people in a "Deluxe 4 person (Private bathroom)", would we stay all in the same room or 1/2 in one and another 1/2 people in another room. I guess you can extend the example if booking 6 people in a '6 person dorm', 8 people in 8 dorm room etc.
I'm assuming that we would all be in the same room right?

Using http://www.hostelbookers.com/hostels/indonesia/kuta/78064/ as an example. you'll see "Deluxe 4 person (Private bathroom)" comes under the private room section. If you hover over the green question mark for that section you'll see that it should really be a private room.
In the example, if you want privacy you most certainly would go for the 4 bed private room (which costs the same per person as a 16-bed dorm). If it says 4-bed dorm then there's no guarantee but the staff will normally reconfigure the rooms to slot you in together. You normally see issues when rooms don't all contain bunks and you have odd-numbered dorms as well (for example, if there was 1 4-bed dorm and plenty of 3-bed dorms near capacity you'd also be competing with other groups of 2 and/or 4 that want to be together. Female-only dorms can stuff things up too (normally when a female accidentally books a mixed dorm on-line and regrets it).

Basically it will be listed as either a shared or private room.
If in doubt just call them (and check their direct website for current direct-only specials)

Just booked excellent apartment smack bang in middle of Vienna for AUD$94 a night.
Reviewers must have stayed at the accommodation to comment, as there is airbnb booking fee they are legit.

Don't go through that site, go through the individual hostels site. The rates can be cheaper.
Not necessarily (but generally they will try), you should contact the hostel first (preferably over the phone)
