Does anyone who knows anything about cookware prices know if this is a ok/good/great deal? im looking to buy something like this soon.
Heh, this guy was far from impressed with the 9 piece version.
Another bad user review for the 30cm saucepan.
Mixed user reviews of the 9 piece set.
Hmm, wondering if I should remove my positive now…
you can probably get a set of a different brand for around the same price.
This is the type of set that doesnt have the non stick coat but is supposed to be very thick steel.
Their are pro/cons either way as any non stick coat will eventually scratch whereas stainless steel should last but is sticky.
I've felt the weight of these in the shop and I think they're just right / there are some that are too heavy for one handed use and some that are too light. (women may find this set slightly heavy)
Exceptional price!! seems like a real bargain, regardless of the mixed reviews

IMHO, reviews are more important when it comes to branded items. If you are spending ~$100 for pots and pans (I would think it's the average prices for these things), then ignoring reviews would seem ok as you don't expect them to last anyway. However when spending $450 on pots and pans, I think it would be highly unwise to not do a little bit of research and see what problems other people might have with it before buying it.
Beware of kitchendiscounts.com.au. I'm guessing its a one man business. I ordered quite a few a things a bit over a month ago. To my surprise it turns out majority was not in stock and on back order. To this date I have received 2 of the cheap items and still waiting on a couple frying pans. I'm pretty patient and haven't got around to notifying the ACCC or Department of Fairtrading. But it does upset me the fact they don't have time to reply to an email, return a phone call (calling them goes straight to a message bank), give me a date I should be expecting the rest to arrive. Or at least offer a refund on the goods they could not deliver. Yet they have the time to be signing up on ozbargain and posting a deal.
All I can say is no matter how good the price looks, it doesn't matter one bit when the goods don't arrive. Until they bother taking care of their customers I'll be leaving this as a warning.
Rannetts,
Thanks for the feedback. We have not received any calls from you, are you sure you are calling the right number. The phone number is 1300 553 596, we personally check the phone calls every morning, secondly all emails should be directed to [email protected]
Look forward to hearing from you in relation to your order.
Secondly, we have just opened our QLD Retail store, which is the largest kitchenware shop in queensland. We have just short of 10 staff members so are definately not a one man band. Look forward to speaking with you.
Thanks.
Thats the number I called that I got from your site. It put me through to your message bank that even stated it was for kitchen discounts. I left my name, mobile number and order number. I will be calling in again today.
Just got a call from Curt, looks like whoever packed and shipped the order marked it as all sent. Was very pleased with his customer service. Hopefully all the goods arrive this time.
@BaNaNaSk1N: The rest of the order they could provide has now arrived. some of the things I ordered are now discontinued so they refunded me for those items instead.
Good heads up rannetts,
and i guess if you're going to invest that much in cookware, you should look up choice magazine's free reviews. Its less biased than one bad experience wiht a frying pan. Anyways you guys should try Victoria's basement or Peters of Kensington (i know they are located in sydney for sure). Theyre probably the main "warehouse" style places for kitchenware, and beat myers(even when theyre on sale)
On the ordering page, there is no mention of the free bonus plancha/steamer…hmmm
