[Wii U eShop Nintendo Network Premium] Super Mario Kart + Mario Kart 8 + $7 eShop Credit $79.95

80

I posted this here which is a good deal for the physical copy. However if you are tired of having to swap discs everytime to play a different game here is something to think about.

If you buy Super Mario Kart from the eShop for $10.40 by 30/06/2014 you will get $10.40 off MK8 ($79.95 rrp) when it is released on 31/05/2014.

You might think this is a raw deal however if you have a Wii U Premium pack don't forget you are enrolled in Nintendo Network Premium which will net you 534 points for your SMK and MK8 purchases. 500 points = $7 credit on the eShop so you are paying $79.95 for SMK, MK8 and a $7 eShop credit.

Might not be as good a deal if you don't want both games but if you have a Wii U Premium and intending to pay the $79.95 retail I would strongly suggest you buy from the eShop.

EXTRA BONUS
If you pay for eShop purchases using Citi Platinum/Signature Credit Card you will earn 3-4 points per dollar (depending on card) since Citibank thinks it is an overseas transaction (lists the transaction as from 'Gb' not 'Au'). Nintendo Australia probably "skins" the EU eShop, which is why when you purchase from the eShop there is a notice saying 'your credit card provider may charge you a fee for overseas transaction'. However this is not the case :)

Not terrible and I do appreciate the effort.
Its not terrible if you want Super Mario Kart but lack luster otherwise.

The amount used for points calculation is pre-gst. Also, 6 points per dollar for a total of 80.35 is not 542. Also, on shelf version will not be 79.95. Also, eggs

    • Mate check your calculations again :)

      And its INCLUSIVE GST!

It has also been confirmed that the major retailers will be selling physical copies at or close to rrp.

  • Great post.. Showed a friend and he said what a great concept so good post..

  • I work it out to be less than 500 points… Around 420 points

How did you come up with $542?

    SMK $10.40 = 55 points roughly

    MK8 $70 = 370 roughly

Does this sound about right to everyone?

still im sure this will get most people a $7 discount code

    • From the site

Nintendo Network Premium is a special reward programme available exclusively to Wii U Premium Pack owners with a registered Nintendo Network ID, who have their country of residence set to a location where full Nintendo eShop is available.

With every purchase of software or add-on content, or download code redemption for downloadable software, or add-on content in Nintendo eShop on your Wii U, you can earn points at a rate of 6 points for each AUD (5 points for each NZD)* of the Nintendo eShop Price (inclusive of GST) of the respective download.

*Actual number of points earned may be higher.

Once you have collected 500 points, you can redeem them for an activation code, which can be used to add funds equivalent to AUD 7.00 (or NZD 9.00 for New Zealand) to a Nintendo Network ID on a Wii U console, or to a Nintendo eShop account on a Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 3DS XL system.

(The period for earning points will end on 31st December 2014. The period for redeeming points will end on 31st March 2015. All activation codes not redeemed by 30th June 2015 will be void.)

      So…
      SMK - $10.40 = 60 points
      MK8 - $79.95 = 474 Points
      TOTAL = 534

Ok my maths was bad late at night, i'll update this :)

      • Ahh so GST is included??

then this is an awesome deal
