    good speakers nice find

    • ya but because of the financial crisis its all gone up in price :(

  • Can anyone comment as to whether you could use these as speakers for your TV in an average size living room?

    • +1

Given the spec's below and my own experience with a set of X-230s I'd say there's enough audio output for "normal" TV/movie watching,,, unless you're wanting to rattle the windows and drive the neighbours crazy, in which case you need to look more around the $400+ mark.

    • They are designed as computer speakers so they have head phone plugs for connectors. I bought a set with the intention of using them in my lounge room but I never got around to buying the 3 the headphone to av plug adapters I needed to hook it up.

I still can't believe these speakers haven't changed in price, they were $100 when I bought them 2 years ago.

  • I read off whirlpool, that the x-530 has popping issues. Anyone bought these care to post your experience?

    • Mine pop quite badly when I'm using the washing machine, its bad enough that I will turn them off before I use it. But my washing machine also messes with my powered tv antenna so it could just be the washing machine.

  • ive had x530's. no issues at all, wanted more grunt, so bought z5500. happy!

  • yeah the popping issues occur when a light switch is turn on/off . However , this does not affect the quality of the speakers

    cheers

  • Great speakers, got them ages ago though

  • x540>x530

    worth the extra $10-15

  • +1

    good price for X-530

  • yea the grunt does occur when my family members turn light switches on/off,

quite funny though, it's easy to find out whether someone is playing with the switches even if they're downstairs hahas

  • I've only ever noticed the speakers popping once or twice, after 2 years of use. Probably depends on what else you have attached to the circuit. No problems with lights.

I had these in a small —> medium sized lounge room, and they put out plenty of sound!
