It's debatable. The only thing that turns me off about the G2 is the weird placement of the power button. here It's between the up and down arrows on that pic.
G2 is much nicer than the S4 and most likely S5. Samsung touchwiz is digusting.
G2 button placement takes a few days of getting used to but I like it. Knock on is great.
Is G2 better than the Nexus 5 ?
Definitely better than nexus 5, except screen color. I use nexus 5 and its one of the best phone over there
From my understanding, G2 is definitely better than the Nexus 5.
The Nexus 5 is a lower specced and vanilla Android version of the G2. The G2 is a phone known as having one of the best battery lifes out on the market.
i've heard the opposite in regards to the screen, ntt.
Doubt anyone is missing out either way. Both great phones.

wife has had no issue's with the software on her G2, the N5 is based on the G2 same internals but not as good camera and terrible battery life in comparison.
The G2's battery is awesome and the only down side is the button placement but this is a 5.2inch screen fit in a phone pretty much the same size as the samsung S4 so when taking that in to consideration you can tell why they've put the buttons on the back, the tap on and tap off works fairly well so you dont need the on button on the back that often.
brilliant phone at $510 for Aus stock is a huge bargain… trust me when i say the battery life alone is worth the purchase it is just brilliant…. cr*ps all over my HTC One

if I hadn't bought my LG optimus G, i probably would've waited and bought this phone. LG phones are alright but android uses a lot of power
This is a fantastic phone, much better than a galaxy s4 and probably the 5 when it's released unless you love the over saturation of the amoled display.
Battery life is definitely the best feature. The LG software isn't too bad either, better than touchwiz, but if it's not your flavour just install a custom Rom.
For the price you won't get these specs in any other phone.
My Samsung broke just before going away. In desperation I bought the G2. Now for as long as I can remember I've been a Samsung man but the G2 is easily the best phone I've ever owned. I got mine for $600 a month ago (interest free) & even though it has dropped by $90- I don't regret the purchase. Guys if you want a great, top spec phone at a value price then buying the G2 is a no brained.
PS. I'm no "fan boy", I'm just calling it as I see it.Can't actually buy it. It says in stock but clickncollect or home delivery is available…

The G2 is great. Definitely beats the Nexus 5 (obviously, more expensive) and the S4. Besides water resistance, I don't even see much in the new phones (S5, Z2) that I would really need….. After seeing the screen of my G2 with the "europe at night" demo video, he wants one. He would have grabbed this DSE deal but he only wants a black one.

in my opinion, best android phone out there right now. have one and no complaints whatsoever. battery life is great. feels solid in the hand. i much prefer LG's android interface compared to sony/samsung (not too familiar with HTC). the power button placement doesn't bother me - got used to the knock on feature where you just double tap on the screen to turn it on.
I want to buy this phone but I'll be updating from the LG 4XHD P880 witch i would keep for longer if the software wasn't slow, I need to restart the phone every few days and do a factory reset every 5 months or so, I've tried rooting it but so far have been unable to unlock the boot loader.
Ill probably buy a nexus 5 maybe when the price drops or pick up the nexus 6 when it comes out. Hopefully Google starts selling Google play edition devices like in the US over here to give a bit more choice.

Cheers for that, gave it another go but was unsuccessful in unlocking the boot loader tried to adb shell method as it was stuck on download mode!!! but got access denied. I'm not sure if i was doing it correctly though…
