Need to buy a clothes washer in Perth this week. Any suggestions?

My clothes washer has packed up. I'd like to get a new one this week. I am in Perth,
Does anyone have any ideas where I can get one at a good price? Do not want LG.

  • what is a clothes washer?

are you referring to a washing machine?

I agree, LG = Low Grade. I have an Asko, it is over 11 years old and still going strong! They really are a fantastic machine.
We've had other brands and they just don't last as long.

    • Not to jinx myself, but my LG top loader has been running strong for nearly 10 years now! (Touch wood)

Variety can be limited but they have some good brands/prices from time to time. Used them twice. No problems at all.

  • LG's actually aren't as bad as people make them out to be. The LG front load I had in my other house is quite comparable with my Miele at my main home in terms of wash performance. The Miele beats it handsdown in terms of noise and how much it rocks around.

It depends how you look at it. My mother has a specific model of LG washing maching that has been running trouble-free for about 12 years.

When she'd had it for about a year we bought the same machine, having seen hers and been impressed with it. From the outset ours was considerably noisier. At exactly a month outside of manufacturers warranty the computer board died. We'd bought extended warranty so this was no problem for us, other than the obvious inconvenience. By the time it reached about 5 years it was really on its last legs.

Likewise, LG upside down fridge didn't seem to be designed to last more than 4 or 5 years.

A neighbour had spend about $1800 on an LG flatscreen TV. At 10 months it died, and parts were no longer available, so was given a newer model as replacement. That one lasted about 10 weeks before it developed problems.
