Henry and Hetty Vacs on Sale £107.99 (Save £42.00) + 99p Delivery (~AUD $201 Delivered) @ The Hut

70

The Hut has the Henry and Hetty vacs on sale again. This time for £107.99, save £42.00. Delivery to Australia is 99p for standard delivery. I'm not sure if it is as good as their previous deals (maybe someone can comment) but it is sure cheaper than buying in Australia.

  • Last time I checked we don't use pounds, how much in aud?

I'm sure you're smart enough to work out what your exchange rate is. This will depend on the form of payment you are using and the date you make the payment. At the moment the exchange rate is about 1.85 GBP to AUD.

Well this is Ozbargain not Britishbargain.

The title might be misleading to people having a quick glance at it.

Also what the hell is 99p? another 99 pound for delivey?

        • +5

The reply below from the OP was meant to be a reply here - 99p is .99 of 1 pound so £108.98 delivered which is around $201AUD delivered depending on what your card provider robs charges you.

Yes, the title price should be in AUD, despite exchange rates being variable. It seems a good deal though.

or else there will be Russian, India, Japan, Thai deals soon…..with all the currency

  • If you type in the link that is the title that comes up hence why it says pounds. Easy enough to convert. 99 pence is like 99 cents. If it was £99 it would have the £ symbol in front of it. I'm sorry if it has caused confusion but some of the previous discounts for this posted on this site have also used pounds.

If you look at this page you are the only one who use pound for this post.
I guess you are new and you mean well.
This is also the most expensive price from this store but that is due to the weak AUD.

Is there really a need to be so aggressive and condescending?

Obligatory YouTube clip to accompany every Henry deal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmC62Eg82E8

  • I have been monitoring the price from the hut for a while and I am pretty sure their price has been like this for the last 3 weeks.

  • Agreed - nothing new but shipping to Oz was about 12 pounds from memory. Haven't checked to confirm OP's info that shipping only 99p.

Way cheaper than what Godfreys wants for this vacuum cleaner i mean have a look for yourself how much they want for the Henry and Hetty. $469. How can the Australian retailer justify that price it's over double the price of what the consumer can import it for?. And the retailers are wondering why people are buying from overseas.

It has a smiley face and a name.

Good price compared to Austraian retail. I bought one a year ago from the but which came in at $169. With from in dollar it's comparable! Great vacuum heaps better than my dyson

Just a thought: Don't you think something is wrong when half the posters here have a go at the OP who only meant well for using the wrong currency rather than commenting on the bargain itself? I thought the original purpose of the comments was to discuss the bargains, not to "chastise" and "talk down" somebody who went to the effort of posting a bargain.
I think maybe there should be a change (this is for the mods) as if such trend is continued it might threaten Ozbargain's business model (and your jobs) as less people are inclined to post which means less income for Ozbargain. I certainly know a good number of people who have seen the treatment of posters, oftent first time posters, and who decided not to post ever here as they do not want to go home feeling bad for something that was meant to be positive for people (of course some people also cite other reasons but that does not belong here).

I know that people will now direct their ire onto me but I am OK with that. I am just saying that maybe the mods should reign in this kind of behaviour. One PM by them to the poster is sufficient - having other people just come down on somebody like that is just not right in my personal subjectivie opinion.

Shipping is not 99p. It's about AUD$24 less any discount that may be running.

Edit: they only offer tracked shipping to Oz on this item rather than their usual standard shipping for smaller items so the pricing is this thread is incorrect.

    • Yes i think the 99p shipping is only for small and cheap items such as movies & games. I wonder why after a few days the shipping price listed in this thread hasn't been fixed up to reflect the real price. It is not $201 delivered.

  • Well it was my first time post. I was trying to help but I did make a few mistakes. I think in future I will just check out other posts and not post any myself. My apologies to all those I upset.
