High Quality Blender

Looking into purchasing a new blender (current one is too small). It would mostly be used to make smoothies etc.

Needs most of these features:
- At least 1 litre capacity (must)
- Easy to clean
- Not ridiculously expensive(see below)
- High quality blending

I've heard great things about the Vitamix blenders (see link). So if anyone can find these or something similar at a reasonable price it would be much appreciated.

Thanks guys!

  • What is your reasonable price? I know someone who sells Vitamixes for about $800, I love mine!

    • That's some seriously crazy blending :)

  • I'd like to suggest a Thermomix but probably missed on one of the four features!

After looking at Vitamix, Blendtec and Omniblend (Vitamix copy for 1/2 the price) I got a Blendtec with Wildside Jar.

Paid $799. I think the normal price with Wildside Jar is $879.

Very easy to clean, less than 20 seconds and I've even made cake batter.
The Wildside Jar is 1L but I've got around 1.3L out of it when needed.

  • Thanks for the input guys.

After a fair bit of research today it seems that the Omniblend V is what I'm looking for (specifically the 1.5L option). Can anyone find it for any cheaper than $319?

  • There's a few different threads in the Kitchen thread on Whirlpool about blenders, the Omniblend, Optimum and BioChef are touted for the $300 range. http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2038536
I got Omniblend V 2L jug in January and great for smoothies, easy cleaning. If doing really thick mixes like nut butters then scooping stuff out and cleaning gets very tricky.

I think I read in one of those WP threads that 2L jug is better at blending due to size of base

    • Thanks Deltakilo, that thread has a heap of good info! Yeah I'm definitely set on the Omniblend V now.

I think I'll be forced to go with the 1.5L option though because the 2L won't fit in my cupboard.

Not many places selling the Omniblend either. Might just have to suck it up and fork out RRP.

      Cheers!
