BTY are pretty average in quality.

    3000mAh - more likely 1500.

put your money into eneloops or those batteries from hobbyking.

or even aldi batteries (you have a 1 year warranty)

    • I hope 258 is a misprint, 2580 is maybe credible.
      258 is utterly useless..

      • Not a misprint. All BTY batteries are trash.
Similarly priced Ultrafire NiMH rechargeables are also trash with real small fraction of stated capacity.

      • I suspect it is not a misprint. They have listed other, more expensive batteries - also labelled as 3000mAh, which say tested at 1027 and 876 mAh.

In fact they even have 'super' 3100 mAh batteries with a tested capacity of 456 mAh.

So basically these are complete rubbish and not a bargain in any sense of the word.

haha i got exactly this brand from ebay a while back. yea tested under 300mah. the batteries are 1/10th of the weight of my turnigy 2200mah's as well.

    3000mAh = bullshit
    Liars.

Not sure what all the hate is about. If you don't like them, at less than $1 each then you can use them in something insignificant like a clock - and still save money on duracell etc.

    • +3

the hate is about the fake capacity and the fact that for $1 approx you can(not sure if it's still on) buy eneloops from DS

      • -2

They have never been a dollar, usually 2.50

        • They were $1.20 today + Charger including delivery from DS.

        • -3

That's true, but many on this forum won't use that charger, and they still aren't a dollar, and 20% isn't what I would call appox IMO, also out of all the eneloop deals how many have been less than 2.50/battery? (I can't be bothered counting)

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't buy these either, but still we should be accurate when dismissing people's opinions :)

so you are more bothered for the eneloops costing $1.20(not true cause in that price you also get the charger so the real price comes under a dollar) and you are not bothered that a 298mAh battery states 3000mAh capacity???
In other words for you 20% is not acceptable but 90%(real capacity/stated capacity) is???

        • Yeah but that's two different things, I am definitely not fine with the mAh. And the reason I am not counting the charger is if you are waiting for another deal like that to come around my guess is will be waiting ages.

And yes if you bought batteries advertised at 3000mAh and they were only 20% less that would be 2400mAh and that would annoy you too.

Most likely you will have to replace/recharge them every week because of self discharge. Eneloop is good for clocks.

    • with that capacity, you may need to change the battery weekly

      have a look here http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qM6gcAMrvm8
If you like the fancy numbers just put a 9000mah sticker on your eneloops…

    • you can use them in something insignificant like a clock

and have to replace them every few days caus they are such small capacity? haha

but the fact is that even tho they state 3000mah its closer to 300. thats like buying (and paying for) 1L of milk, getting it home and finding out that the carton only has 1/2 a glass worth of milk in it….

      • +1

you can use the half glass milk to feed something insignificant like a mouse :)

  • I do not believe it is technically possible (yet) to pack a 3000mAh in an AA volume.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AA_battery/
The very best(and expensive) ones can do 2850.

Wow, I'm glad lots of people know how crap these batteries are. I thought I'd chime right in with a "DON'T BUY!!" but beaten by the crowds.

Ps, don't buy these, they're crap, weigh nothing, self discharge in a couple of days to under 1.00v and have high internal resistance. I didn't know it's physically possible to make a battery this bad without additional engineering effort.
