Goodyear Tyre Offer. 4 for The Price of 3

110

The yearly offer of 4 for the price of 3 Goodyear tyres purchased at Goodyear Autocare centers is back.

I use the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 tyres on my hot hatch and they are the Bees Knees. Truly amazing levels of grip in both wet and dry, whilst still quite quiet.

For those looking for very quiet, very comfortable type of tyre I recommend the goodyear efficientgrip.

  • Don't these offers base on RRP, not normal selling price, so you don't actually save 25%?

    • I priced the deal comparison last year. The per tyre quotes I was getting elsewhere were around 5-7% cheaper. So effectively a 18-20% saving with this Goodyear offer.

  • If you have a Costco card and you buy it there (same offer of buy 4 price of 3) they also offer it with free rotation every i think 10,000km, free nitrogen fill/refill, unlimited free puncture repair (if fixable).

  • Costco do not sell Goodyear tyres.

    • might wanna check up local costco what they sell as michelin HP primacy no longer sold at costco casula…

    • sorry.. i stand corrected.. It was Bridestone that the mrs bought @costco.

  • +2

So that everyone knows, I got this deal with the Eagle F1 Directional 5's last time and they charge RRP per tyre AND a disposal fee for the fourth tyre….
They wouldn't move to match Kmart or the disposal fee…. It ended up being a bit more than 10%off the cheapest cost which would be paying for all four at Kmart…

    • As I suspected.

Eagle Assym 2's are over $350 RRP, but sell for around $230 even at Good Year (e.g. 235/45R17)

    • They are all run independently - so every dealer is different and will charge differently.

I got the same deal last time (Goodyear Eagle Asym 2, 245/45R18), with Goodyear StKilda quoting $325 each (fitted and balanced, total of $975) and Goodyear Mentone quoting $358 plus $30 each for fitting and balancing ($1194 as they charged for the "free" tyre as well).

I compared almost everywhere else like Jax, Bob Jane, KTAS, and many of the smaller players in the area - no one could come even close to <1K for the set (fitted and balanced). I was so shocked by how seemingly low Goodyear StKilda's quote was I had to call a 2nd time to confirm that it wasn't a mistake - or that I had misunderstood the charges.

If you're in the area I'd try out Goodyear StKilda - their service manager fit me in on less than 24 hours notice, and were considerate enough to do it first thing in the morning so I could still make it to work on time!

  • Which one is better ? Bridgestone or Good Year tyre in terms of longer thread life and value ?

    • There more to it than Brand. You'd be better comparing Treadwear Ratings that each tyre carries

      • Don't rely too much on the treadwear ratings listed by manufacturers. It's very much a self assessed process that doesn't translate across brands very well! There's so many more factors as to how a tyre will wear. (Road conditions, temperature, pressure, car type, driving style, etc.) People in somewhere like Nth Qld won't get as good a mileage as say Vic generally because the road conditions aren't as good and they're hotter. Also my tyres won't last as long as others because of the way I drive. Taking off from the lights quickly puts more torsional stress on a tyre.
Best bet, talk to friends and talk to the experts! Make sure you talk to at least one independent store!
