My partner and I are Looking to regularly(monthly) donate to a charity, where half your contributions doesn't go to administration fee. We are looking for charities that do focus around the developing countries
Recommended charities?

There's a good place to start. Gives you a breakdown where donations are spent, and gives each charity a rating based on various metrics. You'd be surprised by the inefficient resource allocation of the 'bigger' name charities compared to other lesser known ones.Yes, find a smaller charity. The big ones are wasteful (and dare i say, greedy). Perhaps, maybe you could sponsor a child in a developing country, can seem more real that way.
I'd recommend this very worthwhile charity that I donate to on a regular basis:
altomicneedsbeer.com.au
otherwise Lort Smith animal hospital
For developing countries I would check out www.sendacow.org.uk
There are quite a few sites that aim to measure charity efficiency. This one looks promising:
givewell.org
How about the Schistosomiasis Control Initiative or the Deworm the World Initiative?
I like Oxfam, relatively low administration costs and they use the money very effectively IMO. Plus they are secular (do not push any belief or disbelief of any religion) which is important to me in a charity dealing with vulnerable people.
Check out the Charity Navigator website — it tells you how charities score in terms of financial accountability and transparency.
http://www.charitynavigator.org/Also check out some Microloan-type organisations, like
http://www.kiva.org/It is a microloan charity focused on providing financial relief, but you get your money back when the loan is repaid.
If you are interested in a small shelter building charity for the Philippines (started due to the earthquake and typhoon), I would be more than happy to talk about it.
these are where ozbargain has donated over the past few years:

whilst most of the charities listed on that page are domestic, have a read through the comments in the individual posts. Should be some ideas in there.
