Hi All,
I need to buy a Prepaid gift card/universal gift card as a group present and was wondering if anyone knows of any good deals. I am guessing that the value of the gift card would be around $1000. I am in Sydney.
Thanks

The Official Gift Card of the Reserve Bank!
And the ONLY Universally accepted Gift Card! And the only one approved by Ozbargainers who like to buy at the cheapest place for the cheapest price!
Pro's
It's/They're available pretty much anywhere,
can be used anywhere in Australia and even in some overseas airports,
no expiry date,
the issuer is least likely to declare bankruptcy.
Cons
None
Anything else is a complete scam, as well as being an annoyance to the giver/s (gotta go out of their way to "buy" a piece of plastic that either holds less value due to fees, or can only be used in select places for a select period of time), and an annoyance to the receiver/s (who have to find something they don't want in a store they don't like at a price they would never normally pay)!
The only time I can think that cash is less useful than a gift card is if you're giving the cash in silver coins!
Oh and finally it looks WAY more Impressive… boring plastic card Vs a huge wad of Pineapples or Kiwi Fruit?
If it MUST be a giftcard, the visa/mastercard ones are all about $3-6 to purchase, then you can add the amount to it.
Other than that, there aren't really "universal" ones, with the exceptions of a Woolworths or Coles group giftcard, which have no fees to load or buy - you just can't spend them anywhere other than those stores (hardly a small selection, though). I believe they may have a $500 limit, so you'd have to get 2.
Thanks for the responses guys
