  • PAL is defunct now as we broadcast in DVB-T, and I assume the TV you bought only receives ATSC.
You will most likely need something like a set-top box to receive DVB-T which will then output to your TV.

  • It's not a PAL/NTSC question, for digital tv Australia used DVB-T, while the USA uses ATSC.

Unlikely that the TV will support both tv standards, so free-to-air probably wont work without a set-top-box.

The bigger problem is the tv is marked as only supporting 115V @ 60HZ, so you'll need a transformer for it to work, even then transformers are a bit hit and miss.

  • You will not be able to watch free-to-air broadcasts.

  • Cancel the transaction if you can.
If, as hellbound indicated, this is a 110/115 Volt specific model, the cost/hassle/extra electricity usage involved with a step-up transformer alone, isn't worth it.

Awhile back somebody on OzB bought a U.S. model Dyson vac from Amazon. They really did their dough.

With overseas bought appliances generally, and with some categories of electronics, you really do need to do your research before you buy…

  • In the detailed Product Information section, under Additional Information, it says: Currently, item can be shipped only within the U.S.

Unless you are buying through a US forwarding agent, I suspect your order will likely be cancelled by Amazon anyway.

    • Aahh, maybe no 'step-up' needed. The Amazon no-shipping angel may 'step-in'!!
