$8.25 for delivery seems a lot for a pair of chopsticks?

Have no idea how others do it but that's what Aust Post charges me for those red satchels. Suggest buying more to save. It's a flat $8.25 or free shipping if you spend over $50

      • You're doing it wrong.
Use Click & Send to create and print the orders online. Then its only $6.95 + packaging.

        • Thanks for the tip! Postage updated

      $8.25 is chow mean

Surely you could throw these in a normal envelope, with a 60 cent stamp?

    • -2

nup. They do not fit into the sizing slot they use to check and I've also been told the stamps(soon to be 70cents) are only for letters

      • +1

stamps can be used to post anything as a letter under 2cm

        • These are over 2cm.

        • A 2 cm letter would be…

          Hello

      • what are the dimensions of this product? length wise they look like they'd fit in a prepaid B5 envelope for 1.40 but the width (finger holes) looks like they might be over 20mm.

        • Unfortunately they are over 2cm depth. Whilst I could certainly try to pots them in envelops, it would not come with tracking and also risk not being sent due to bulkiness.

  • You can get a set of 5 pairs of training chopsticks here for $7.6 including shipping from Wollongong. I'm aware they aren't the same product so I won't be negging…just thought it might be better value for anyone interested.

    • You can't neg anyway. Ozbargain cancelled my neg and gave the reason ….inappropriate lol

    • Appreciate your comments and holding back on the negging. My opinion is that you will find those ones without the finger and thumb rings will be hard for 3 y.o to hold and use 'properly' with one hand. These ones are patented designs from Korea and are quite popular in Asian countries. Certainly my own kids have used them with good success.

Fair enough brilliances. I can see how the rings would be useful, I was never afforded that luxury when I learned years ago haha.

Apologies for the unfair comparison and I'll give you a + vote for your great communication, it's not something all reps have when it comes to dealing with comments in deals around here :) Hope you are able to find a better postage package/method too to further lower those costs!

      • -2

So because they are designed in Korea, the postage is more?

        • +1

No, the 'patented designs from Korea' is a comparison between the two products and not meant as a rationale for the high postage costs.

The high postage is because I am a little online shop that does not have the volume to enjoy Aust Post's bulk discount postage rates.

    • The finger holes/loops make a big difference I think. My 2.5yr old nephew has a pair and does amazingly well with them. I agree with the other posters that the shipping may be a bit steep, but I guess it evens out if you bought a few extra sets at a pretty good price. I would've been interested if it weren't for it being left-handed sets only.

Any chance of a local pickup, OP?

    • -3

      sorry.. no pickups.

    • someone buy 20 and then sell for a slight profit to ozbargainers who want them!

even at 4 bucks its a good price

No take away. Home delivery only.

Do they have eat in I wonder?

  • +1

Not Thomas, but right handers and $2.27 with free shipping:

  • Worried they're too top heavy.

  • This is just my opinion but as an asian, i find these "training chopsticks" will just make learning how to use chopsticks infinitely harder. I have been using normal chopsticks all my life find it hard to use these training chopstick, not sure how a kid who never use chopsticks before would fare.

    • On the contrary, I didn't realise there was a 'proper' posture and technique to hold chopsticks until well into my late teens. Techniques aside, I am sure Asian kids will learn to use chopsticks in due course but without these, they would have needed to be much older before starting. Seeing toddlers self feed using chopsticks is quite satisfying!

Also, they can be for more than just training to use chopsticks.. in some kindies and child physio's they use these for pure motor skill development (eg. in exercises where tongs are normally used).

What? I learn how to use normal chopstick when i was 6 years old. I am pretty sure most asian kid would know how to use chopstick by the time they are in primary school.

    • um….

$23.66 International Priority Shipping to Australia

  • The item looks nice enough at good price, but I think the consensus is that postage kills the deal. Not your fault as auspost charge what they charge. Have you looked into the ebay flat rate postage? From my calc, you would save about $1.15 for each delivery up to 500g ($6.95 + 15c per satchel if you buy 20 satchel pack). Good luck anyway.
