Bought a Chinese brand tablet overseas and didn't notice this problem until I was travelling back to Australia on the plane. When watching video and had my headset plug into the tablet, I noticed there was background music/noise through the headset. There was no such problem using the tablet's speaker. It defeats the purpose of buying this tablet so I can watch video on long-haul flight. Now I am stuck as this tablet does not support blue-tooth. I should have tested the headset right after I bought this tablet.
Does anyone have any suggestion how to fix or get around the problem? Will it work with a blue-tooth dongle?
Your feedback is very much appreciated.
Can you describe this in more detail? I can understand if there is background noise (hissing or humming, perhaps due to some kind of short or soldering problem on the motherboard) but if there is background music, that might just be a music application that is set to auto-play when a headset is connected.
Android 4.1 has the USB Audio feature that allows certain devices to transmit audio through the USB port, however the purpose of this feature is to primarily allow manufacturers to use Audio docks. However people been using a digital to analogue converter without any problems.

USB audio output support allows hardware vendors to build hardware such as audio docks that interface with Android devices. This functionality is also exposed with the Android Open Accessory Development Kit (ADK) to give all developers the chance to create their own hardware
