I would recommend checking the voltage on your supplied 240 v power adaptor/charger as the voltages varies between various tablets. My Acer A500 uses a 12 v adaptor, so I would say, plugging the usb end into a computer or 5 to 5.5 v usb power adaptor would not work for this model. I have a couple of other 7" tablets, they are both 5 v, so should work for those. You just need to be sure about the polarity in the 2.5 mm. barrel as that could short out product if incorrect. As I am not a professional, I could be wrong though.
