Cheap place for Passport Photos near Town Hall (Sydney)?

first post.

I think the title is self-explanatory. Most of the posts regarding this are older and outdated, so wondering where I can get $10 (or less) passport photos near Town Hall.

Comments

  • Cheapest:

    • Take a selfie with white background
    • Crop to the right size or use services such as ePassportPhoto
    • Take the JPEG to a photo printing place. Harvey Norman for example, 15c / print when I used to work at Martin Place. 2 hours turn around.

Yeah I know the passport office can be picky sometimes (or is that the post office when you do the interview?) so consider this method "skill required".

    • OfficeWorks will print 4" x 6" for 12c. You can fit 8 passport photos on one 4" x 6" print. So 4 members of your family can each get 2 passport photos for just 12c - which is 10c if you pay cash.

  • If you know someone who has a membership, try Costco. They are $4.99pp for 8 prints on a single sheet. My wife and I just got ours done for $9.98 at Costco Docklands in Melbourne. I'm assuming here that the Sydney Costco price is the same as Melbourne.

For Melbournians, I've been charged $10pp at Photo Plus on Swanston St, and Aust Post charges $12pp. Ted's Cameras charges $20pp.

    Hope that helps.

  • I usually just go to Post Offices for this sort of thing. Easy and simple.

If you're really desperate in TH (I was in a rush to get my US working visa sorted), there's a photo shop in Town Hall Square on the corner between the station and the shopping arcade. It isn't cheap from memory though- I think I paid close to $25 when I did it a couple of years ago.

    • I'd vote post office for highest reliability and not too costly. I got mine done at the place below Central Station which got rejected years ago :( Then went back to the post office and they redid it until it was suitable.

    • I'd add that the $25 was funded by my employer but the old man had done so many, he really did it perfectly. No rejections/issues which given my short time frame at Christmas to get a working visa by 2nd of January, was very much appreciated and worthwhile to me. Don't underestimate the pain/annoyance of having a passport photo rejected.
