Hi all,
Anyone buy the Horize W840SN recently?
How do you find it? How is the battery life?
I am still using an Asus ul30vt (10 hour battery life) and am looking to upgrade in the near future, so any comments are appreciated.
Cheers

Thanks for the effort and review! How much juice does suck with regular use? Could I use it at school or uni for the day?
Provided that you're willing to sacrifice a lower battery profile and not tempted to game on it, it should net you around 6-9 hours. Mileage varies depending on what you do, batteries are fickle like that.
Recently bought one on behalf of my friend, which I had been tasked to setup with Windows 7.
Here's my breakdown:
The W840SN is built native for Windows 8. Try to install 7 on it and you'll have a bad time. Not to worry though, the guys over at Logitech Blue are currently working on their own repository for drivers and temporarily gave me the ones I needed which you can take a look at over here.
The rig runs at 1080p on a 13/14 inch screen, it's quite small and you'll have to adjust to get used to the resolution scale because it's trying to pack a lot of pixels onto the screen.
Overall it's snappy and responsive, battery life is solid - the ultrabook was left to sleep for 9 hours and lost around 40% of its life.
Gaming-wise, I ran BF4 on it to test out its potential. You can run everything on Low settings which will net you around 30-40FPS. *The W840SN will heat up, you'll especially notice it on the right hand side near the BNM keys. I opted to downscale the resolution to 720 and below which bolstered the FPS to a very buttery 70.
Overall it's a decent compact ultrabook which packs a punch for gaming. It's something that you'd want to bring over to a mate's house to game with but don't want to lug a huge tower.
What am I disappointed about? The fact that it only has 2 USB 3.0 ports. There are no more ports other than the two to the right hand side, below the AC port. It's not an issue for me as I hooked up a cooler to the ultrabook which had an additional 4 slots, which I would highly recommend if you were considering to purchase this one as it will heat up during gaming.
