    $272 for NUC + 4Gb + 500Gb (inc delivery).

$17 cheaper than other NUC deal posted today, and no CC surcharge with SE.

Right, our aim today is to offer Intel NUC to our ozbargain customers (long overdue) and at the same time offering some flexible options at reasonably competitive prices. Hopefully we can have a good run in this section and continue to improve in providing options and deals on them to everyone.

Inputs for options are welcome ~~

    Great deal SE !!

  • Hey Rep,
Is it common to receive 2nd hand products from shoppingexpress?

    • No it is not common at all.
We sell Genuine Official Stock from Authorized Australia Distributor
They are Brand NEW sealed in box (with exception of products in Opened Box Category).
Did you happen to have an issue with your order?

      Regards
      SE

      • Where can I find what items are in the open box category.
Yes I did have a issue with my order that I received yesterday.
Did you want me to msg you the support ticket number?

        • Hi Wish,

Items included in our Opened Box category would have "Open Box Sale" at the front of their item name.

If you can PM me the ticket number, i can have a look for you.

          Kind Regards
          SE

        • I just checked and the items I received opened and used are not in the "Opened Box" category

        • +2

          Hi Wish,

I checked your ticket and apologize that i did not include this in earlier comment: All boxes on our RAM will be opened as we need to put a warranty sticker onto each of them.

          Regards
          SE

Ahh ok no worries, thanks for looking into it.

  • does the Intel NUC Core i5 4250u support mSATA SSD? or just the regular SATA?

    • The one in this deal has a 2.5", however the case is larger.

There is a msata model of the I5.

      • It's quite strange that this non SATA SSD model is more expensive than the newer model that can fit a full SSD.

For this model, many other suppliers are significantly cheaper (e.g. PCCaseGear)

        • I liken it to the price difference you pay for a laptop, generally the sleeker less weight means you pay more.

    • +2

I'm pretty sure the i3 and i5 board still has the msata slot - they just dont mention it anywhere

      EDIT: http://www.legitreviews.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/sata-…

This Celeron model does not have msata

      • Has anyone tried replacing the wifi with an msata?

        • Wifi slot is only half minipcie, I dont believe there are any msata' that small

FYI - got one of these cheap N2820 from last weeks deal to use as a HTPC - here is my review for those interested
    http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=87617.0

  • Nice price. Enjoying my n2820 from last week's deal.

  • Hmmm…trying to justify the Celeron NUC.

Current HTPC is an Acer Revo 3700 - Atom D525 1.8 GHz, NVIDIA ION chipset.

    • I also have a revo 3700 - its fantastic.

You can't really justify the celeron NUC as a replacement.

As a second box to put in another room with very similar performance to the revo it is more than justified.

      • I have a Raspberry Pi in the bedroom running XBMC which is fine for the purpose. Maybe swapping the HDD for a SSD in the Revo might be better. It's really just startup and switching between Media Center for live TV and XMBC that's a little sluggish.

        • Why don't you use openelec? It has support for Live tv now.

  • +1

Finally. Thanks rep. Ordered a celeron with 4gb.

  • does this include wifi

    • Yes, it does:

      Networking
      * 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet port
      * Intel® Wireless-N 7260BN pre-installed, including wireless antennas
      (IEEE 802.11bgn, Bluetooth* 4.0, Intel® Wireless Display built-in)

      • I think it is only the Celeron model. The other two has antenna only

        • NB. 7260BN is single band wifi. WiDi only works on i3, i5 nuc models.

  • +1

Can someone test & confirm whether the Celeron n2820 has the performance required to playback 3D blu-ray full HD frame packed via HDMI 1.4 to a 3D display, please? I've searched but results so far are not definite, thanks.

  • Hi Rep,
did you post to P.O Box ? thanks

    • Yes - we do.

  • Can I use the i3 version as a normal desktop PC? Mainly for Internet browsing and video playing, may be Office applications as well. Can i install Windows 7?

    • +1

It is a mini PC and will work similar to a desktop pc with a smaller form factor. As there are no official Windows 7 driver for them, would not recommend installing Windows 7.

      Cheers
      SE

      • +3

That's the official word of course but if you have a check around on google there's all the windows 7 drivers you need, just none officially

      • +2

Um the I3 has Windows 7 drivers..

The Celeron version didn't have drivers up until a week ago but it should be ok now too..

      • According to this, Windows 7 is supported. The Celeron one is only partially supported.

  • Hi Rep,

The Kingston 4GB Low Voltage DDR3 non ECC sodimm seems out of stock. Can you get more stock?

    Cheers,

    • Hi Bill,

We've got more than 100 of them in stock, there was a stock control discrepancy just now, been fixed.

Just ordered a NUC Core i5 4250u and 4G ram. Thanks Rep!

        Cheers,
        Bill

        • thanks Bill :)

Apologies for being a novice with HTPC setup.

If I want to install XBMC on the cheaper celeron model, what else do I have to upgrade? I normally used my laptop to watch shows through XBMC (desktop version) but its a hassle every time. Can I just install XBMC directly on to it without adding anything else? Can someone point us a dummies guide?

    thanks
    zone

    • +3

look into openelec a standalone xbmc linux os made to be simple as shit.

    • +1

Yes just install the latest OpenElec nightly build and you're good to go.

      • +2

        Why use the nightly?

        • +1

Because the current stable release will not work with these, apparently Frodo won't run on these ( at least the celeron ones ,not sure about the others) but the nightly Gothams do (and quite well i might add).

Additionally you will probably have to upgrade the firmware immediately too, i had all sorts of grief getting USB sticks to boot with it initially but after the upgrade it all worked flawlessly.

  • Don't suppose there's any chance of a deal on the AMD Gigabyte Brix models?

    • Nope - its INTEL today :P

  • Did anyone that buy 4010u ever tried the HDMI output through VTD was working? I am planning to create a VM for my HTPC; not the host itself. If it is working, I will buy. My gen8 microserver cant do it.

  • hi SE, might be worth having a look into the price difference for the NUC Celeron + 4GB Ram:
    - 24 Hour Deal: 219.75 delivered (11.95 shipping cost)
    - Deal posted above: 217.95 delivered (9.85 shipping cost)
total = $1.9 cheaper if picking the two items from the post. It is just that I sometimes buy from your 24 hour deals - would feel bad if had bought it without checking OZB.

    1 x Intel NUC Celeron N2820 2.5 SSD HDMI PC + 4GB Ram BOXDN2820FYKH0-4GB $208.00
    Total Shipping $11.75 - Order Total $219.75

    1 x Intel NUC Celeron N2820 2.5 SSD HDMI PC BOXDN2820FYKH0 $183.00
    1 x Kingston 4GB 1600MHz Low voltage DDR3 Non-ECC CL11 SODIMM (1.35V) KVR16LS11/4 $48.00
    Total Shipping $9.85 - Total Discount -$23.00 - Order Total $217.85

    Edit 1: just bought one!

    • Hi stellaaddicted,

thanks for mentioning this issue - we've overlooked the issue so if anyone that bought it under the 24 hour deal - they are entitled to contact me for a store credit of the difference.

We promise we won't put our customer in similar situation in the future.

      Regards
      SE

  • Any chance to get a cheaper price if its without an operating system?

    • It is without OS.

      • Says Windows 8.1 and 8 Logo on the page.

        • Definitely doesn't come with an OS - maybe it just comes with the Logo's (stickers)?

        • How much cheaper if I buy it without the Logo stickers?

  • The new BOXD54250WYKH is $469 pick up at Megabuy which is easily the cheapest I found online. Slightly taller so that it can take a 2.5 inch HDD up to 1TB or 2TB with mods or a SSD. It also has more holes for cooling. Would've posted but there's only 2 left so get in quick.

Paired it up with 8GB of crucial ram, 60GB SSD and Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260, 2x2 AC+BT, HMC.

    Review: http://www.legitreviews.com/intel-nuc-kit-d54250wykh-review_…

Make sure you get the correct ram!

  • forgive my ignorance - what is this box ideally used for ?

    • +1

It's a mini pc that basically has laptop specs without the monitor and keyboard. Many people use them as a media box. I'm going to fit mine to the back of my monitor to reduce clutter. I;m not an expert by any means, I just stumbled upon this concept and it suits me. Also google the Gigabyte BRIX, they look sweet too.

  • anymore Microserver n40L/n54L deals?

  • Hi Shopping Express,

If we order now, will we get these delivered out to us by Friday? I'm located in Sydney :)

Additionally are you only doing deals for the WYKH enclosures? Any deals for i3 or i5 WYK without the 2.5" chasis?

    • Hi philipyoung,

There is a chance of getting it by friday if you order before 1:00pm (1:30pm is usually our cut off time for same day dispatch)

We will be bringing more variety and range to the Intel NUC into our site - so if you want, you can PM me any particular model you are interested and they will be put into consideration.

      Regards

I placed an order this morning at 7AM, and called at 9:30AM to confirm if my order would be shipped today. I emphasized that I needed the parts delivered by Friday, and was told I should expect to have it delivered by Friday. I was assured if there were any issues with the order I would receive a call about the order.

During the course of the day, I noticed I had yet to receive any emails of my order being shipped. So I checked my order status on the Shopping Express website and it was assigned status: "Pick". So I called again at 3PM to enquire what was going on with my order. The guy on the phone said he'll need to check with the warehouse, and was promised a call back. I never received a call back.

I finally called back again at COB, and was told the package had not left the warehouse and that I should expect it to be delivered tomorrow. This basically meant my order would arrive Monday rather than Friday which I had originally had hoped for.

If I had known the package would never get shipped today, I would not had placed my order with Shopping Express. This is my first experience with Shopping Express and I am not impressed with the service and communication I have received so far.

        • Hi philipyoung,

There was a delay in dispatch of your order due to awaiting the Windows 8.1 from our warehouse located at another suburb.

We could have done better in our communication & we apologize for the inconvenience caused. Your order will be dispatch today but if you decide not to proceed with the order, please let me know asap so we can arrange a cancellation & refund for you.

          Yours Sincerely,
          SE

  • Looks like the Celeron model is sold out. Damn!

  • That was quick looks like BOXDN2820FYKH0 is out of stock.

  • Here's hoping for some Synology deals in the future!

  • No chance of more celeron stock?

    • No more - will definitely source for more in upcoming deals.

      Regards
